You have to always RDP to your server. NTM is not designed to be a client-server application.

Hi Adam What device is it ?
-
Hi SolarWinds NTM, is built with documentation in mind. The application does not actively poll data from devices to provide performance statistics. The feature, you are requesting will be available in NPM next release. You can read more here, NPM 10.7 Beta 1 Available Regards Cliton Godinho NPM 10.7 Beta 1 Available

Would this post help ? Adding Live Weather to the "Worldwide Map" Resource
-
Hi Could you try fitting into 3 or 4 pages, to have it more readable ?
-
Hi, We dont have the function you are requesting in the current release. Could you tell me more on how this functionality will benefit you and your experience with NPM? Are you looking at a miniature WorldWide Map with this specific node laid out (with the possibility of Zoom in and out) ? Do you also see this miniature…

Mike, Which version of Engineers Toolset you are running ?

Chris, HIDDEN GEMS IN ORION NETWORK ATLAS, I have created a Blog post on Atlas, i believe this should help you a bit. With regards to what you are trying to accomplish there are two ways to go about it. * Create your user define group in the Orion Console, and set up dependencies if required. Once this group is created you…

Hi Jason, The reason for having best practices, is to give the user a reference point, where one could use the above points to their advantage. NTM does not require a dedicated server to perform its job. It will work fine on the same server where NCM is installed, while keeping in mind the minimum system requirements.

Hi Brian The current version we don't have the functionality to change graphics of identified nodes in NTM. The options you have are Export to Visio or Network Atlas. How important is it for you, for NTM to have its own embedded graphics stencils ? and reason, the need to change the default icons ? Regards Cliton Godinho

Vance, We discussed this item over phone. However, the instructions below will guide you through on how to accomplish Shared Editing of Maps. 1. Start -> All Programs -> SolarWinds Network Topology Mapper -> Support Tools -> Click NTM Diagnostics 2. Click the Start button in the SolarWinds Diagnostics window. 3. Choose a…

Hi Engineers Toolset is licensed per install. You can install ETS onto a Server and RDP to it (this can be an Orion Server). PS: Some tools does not support multi-user access (like Port Scanner, IPAM ..etc) Having said, there are plans to move Toolset to the web, to address this accessibility issue. You can find more here…

jlintner wrote: Can it be recovered or reset? I can create/open/edit my maps but co-workers can't. I don't remember what my initial password was but need to change it to something standard so we can all work on the same maps? Hi John I have created a quick raw documentation on how you can achieve resetting your NTM…

This is possible. Check out and follow the instruction laid here. P.S: Do not forget to have there custom icon WITHOUT status. Without this, icon will not work.

Dave, check out the ARP table display in your node detail page. It should show your the corresponding MAC Address to the IP Address

Hi Ken This is a complicated process, In order to help you. I would need what all items you want to backup and restore ? Is it just custom settings & config files ? Let me know Regards Cliton
-
Jarod, This is not possible with the current version of Atlas. The workaround people use for having "Animated background" is by using some sort of forecast map in JPG and this JPG changes regularly on the server where the background resides. It would make sense, to have this functionality as a Feature Request. Please…

Vince. Whats the NTM version you are running ? and is it only this particular range you have an invalid error ? Regards Cliton
-
Hi, With the current version, this particular feature is not possible. If you can give me a detail description on how you want to achieve this functionality to work (rough work flow) and the use-case for having it. I can take it,as a feature request. I look forward for your response. Thanks Cliton Godinho
-
This is a feature request. Question: Do you want the application to built the WAN connection links automatically or are you comfortable for NTM to built Drawing tools for you to illustrate a MPLS connections ? Regards Cliton
-
Hi We had a 1:1 conversation about this situation. For the wider audiences who are interested to know. In order to know more information about the nodes identified, these device/nodes needs to be present into the discovery wizard. Regards Cliton Godinho
-
Hi, Dave Your L2 nodes needs to respond to SNMP, to be correctly identified. If the nodes does not respond to SNMP, most likely it would be polled using ICMP. In this case it would show up as unknown nodes.
-
Dgerdem, To understand the issues you encountered deeper, I would like setup a meeting with you and discuss each item personally. Would you be open for a conversation ? Regards Cliton Godinho
