Have you attempted to move a copy of the file outside of that directory and test it? Have you turned on debug logging to see if it may shed more light on why it can't find the file? My thininking is that because it is in the windows directory SolarWinds is having a hard time accessing it either because of permissions, etc.

Take a look at the out of the box "Database Status" report, you can just mimic that in a custom table resouce, here's a screenshot of one I did real quick Here's the important change to the report (change the name for the DB to count and then it will just display the number of DB's)

that should do it, if you have multiple application monitors you'll likely have to create a group that contains all of them you want to be in scope of this as well.

What does a session trace for the device say?

Case Number# 797948. he asked me for more diagnostics on june 10th. and he replied yesterday (june 11th) stating that he will keep me informed of the status

i have double checked to ensure that this was turned off

Thanks a bunch, this is exactly what i was looking for. Greatly appreciate the info.

the host is being monitored via SNMP already. and during this "hang" the interfaces and the volumes do not go into an unknown state. its just that the management agents on the ESX become unresponsive with my vCenter Server and cause them to go into a "not responding" state, VM's stay online and accessible like nothing is…

can you post a screenshot of the failing component's settings?

I believe those are checking particular event logs, can you confirm that the log source is correct. in regards to serena suggestion you can turn on debug logging for the application monitor and then review it on the polling engine that the node is assigned to. Here's a KB article that walks you through how to enable debug…

do you mind posting a screenshot of where you are attempting to run this?

are there any differences between the ones that are working and the ones that aren't, such as the assigned device template?

What about the execution policy?

apologies I didn't notice that you asked for my case number, it is 803565

After reviewing the KB I realized that I had found this previously and have already made these changes on both my exchange servers. Over the weekend when both my Exchange servers went into an unknown state I deployed an agent to one of them and began monitoring it via an agent. Once I did that and after the applications…

Thank you for the reply. I will research the KB you have provided and post the results. I did not think to manage this node with an agent. Will this bypass my solarwinds poller communicating to the exchange server via powershell? I will attempt this on one of my exchange servers and see if this makes a difference. You have…

i have reviewed the knowledge base article, and i can not find anything in the event log dealing with a CRL being inaccessible.
-
yes, since you mentioned it i have had the application monitor running in debug mode, and when i first opened the ticket with solarwinds the technician grabbed diagnostics. once it is in debug mode did i have to do additional steps or is this a seperate log from the diagnostics report he had me provide for him.

this occurs intermittently, when i press test connection it always says test connection. I have verified on the server that the account being used as the appropriate permissions per the documentation from solarwinds. i have a support case in with solawinds per the suggestion from aLTeReGo and will post the results as soon…

Do you mean not doing a new "Network Discovery"? If so, then you don't need to run a whole new discovery job, you can just go to the node in question from the "Manage Nodes" page, select it and hit the "List Resources" button
-
sja, yes I used it on a stacked switch. although for different model families I believe that the command to use the tar is different. I'd recommend verifying the command with the Cisco documentation
-
One thing you may want to ask the technician to do is to provide you the list of cipher suites that are necessary to run. Then you can add those particular suites using this tool Nartac Software - IIS Crypto thats the approach we took in an environment where i was experiencing that issue. In that environment we had to…

Hi hpstech, thanks for that. Can you also show how the email message is configured? This looks functional, personally, I would move the component types up into the scope, and move the status down to the actual trigger condition. But its really a matter of 6 one way half a dozen the other

The paging made a big difference in normalizing the config. Unfortunately because things like noise level, rogue AP MAC addresses, etc the configs are always going to have differences. I could go through and exclude those lines using regex but I'm afraid that it will be a nightmare of getting everything excluded, then…

can you share the query or a screenshot of how you are currently capturing this? or if you're willing can you try the below-modified query from the mentioned article, it should just target down devices. Notice i've changed the final "WHERE" statement to just look for node status = 2 (which is down) select n.caption as…

would you be able to post a stripped screenshot of the output?

Have you turned on debug logging for the application monitor to see if the log will provide you more information as to why it isn't working? Success Center- Turn on Application debugging for SAM

I would pay particular attention in the article with the OID's around the HP ones. but doing a comparison of the walks between the two will probably shed a ton more light to this.
-
can you post a Screenshot of one that is working? on one that is working is it actually showing you valid stats. Please review the below articles Monitor hardware health Success Center I'm guessing that what's happening is that it sees one or more of these OID's listed and attempting to poll those values but for Aruba they…

That log would only have an entry if the execution of the action fails by default, you can adjust the log level to get more insight https://support.solarwinds.com/SuccessCenter/s/article/Adjust-logging-levels-with-the-Orion-Log-Adjuster?language=en_US
