vCloud Director is not on VMANs immediate roadmap we do have a larger initiative to gather cloud metrics starting off with AWS and then add additional in iterative releases. This can be found on the What We're Working On Beyond SAM 6.2 (Updated August 23, 2015) . Although it is on the SAM VMAN will benefit from the…

Features Available in VMAN 8.0 (Orion)
-
Pradeep Were you dependent on all three features or was one feature used more heavily than the other two that were missing?
-
Hey leslieb9, that is correct. We have added VCSA support in VMAN 6.2 which will be having a Beta 3 released soon to all VMAN customers currently on maintenance.
-
let me know if you are still experiencing the problem, there are still some additional steps we can take.
-
One area of clarification, step 3 instructs you to "Logon to the Virtualization Manager appliance via the console." another option is to SSH to the appliance using your admin credentials to logon.
-
Praveen Once VMAN 8.0 is available yes, the VMAN installer will be similar to SRM, NPM, & SAM.
-
Joshua Sorry for the inconvenience, since you are on VMAN 6.1 you will need to file a ticket with Support and they can help remove the proper entries from the database.
-
If you are getting the "Manage Node" window then it is already being managed by VMAN its just allowing you to add snmp or WMI monitoring to provide additional Metrics.
-
Byron The real-time dashboards are the interpretation of the data presented by the VMware API. In this case real-time would be the collection of VMware's 20 second samples in the collection intervals set in VMAN. To get any more granular in (such as to the second) the data collected, the admin would need to log into the…

Michael Is the situation the same as the previous issue where the eval alert was displaying even though VMAN had never been integrated?
-
It looks like the customers that have this setting visible are on ESXi 5.5. Our lab setup only has data listed for the 5.5 hosts as well.
-
Manilyn I apologize for your headache with this. Based on what I've read on this post it seems very similar to a KB I came across. SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Virtualization Manager does not load The KB explains that "If you do not have an Internet connection or otherwise block the connection to fpdownload.adobe.com, the…

J Send me your ticket number and I will track on our side.
-
Shane Yes, I believe we have that option on the horizon for a new installer. In the meantime, if you use the notest switch when starting the installer from the command line the installer will skip the storage test
-
Ricardo, Can you provide details on what the exact problems they were experiencing?
-
Most license issues I see involve not having the primary license installed or if integration is enabled with Orion having both the primary and secondary license enabled.
-
Vic I agree you shouldn't have to pay for NPM just to get Orion integration features so for the 6.2 release we started to provide a standalone Orion for VMAN customers so that SAM or NPM is no longer required for integration. Message me if you have any issues downloading the Orion module.
-
Michael Since this case is a little different than what was expected we will need open a ticket with support. I touched base with the engineers and they want to view the logs to see how this happened. When you open the support case, send me the case number and I will follow up with engineering so they can track it and get…

That is correct

Luke The what we are working on for Virtualization Manager was recently updated and support vCSA was added. You can check it out here Virtualization Manager - What We Are Working On
-
The appliance will get installed on vsphere but since you are running evaluations of NPM, SAM, & SRM you dont need to run the setup named VMAN-Orion-Install-2nd. The installer named VMAN-Orion-Install-2nd is for customers who do not have existing Orion instances to integrate with or want to keep their VMAN instance…
-
We are currently working on our side to fully support vCSA but unfortunately its not officially supported yet. We are looking at it and we are in the process of doing internal validation but it is still ongoing.
-
Yes your Virtualization Manager (VMAN) is monitoring the VM correctly which likely means that we cant match up the VMs that were already in Orion to VMs that are in Virtualization Manager because the ManagedObjectID in the Orion database is different than the world ID in the VMAN database. WE use the following 3 things to…
-
Eric Gather diagnostics from both VIM & VMAN and create a ticket. Once you have a created the ticket please send me the ticket number so I can follow it and get it assigned appropriately.
-
Manilyn As Milan pointed out any administrative functions requiring root on the appliance can be accomplished using "sudo su".
-
That is correct, VMAN 8 RC is right around the corner and will allow for a single install with the VMAN pollers in Orion. So, in this case, you would just need have the single install
-
Yes, Virtualization Manager (VMAN) is a separate purchase. The view you're looking at is called AppStack, which is visual end to end mapping of dependencies from the application to the back end storage array, put together from data from all the following SolarWinds modules Server & Application Monitor (SAM) Virtualization…
-
Josh We can accomplish what you are trying to do by integrating your VMAN instance with you Orion NPM or SAM. This will provide you with RBAC and allow you to set group access for an entire component (in this case virtualization) much like the current setup for NPM and SAM. Unfortunatly there is no way to accomplish what…

Great list!! I will make sure to review the items noted. Thanks again
