If you consider yourself to be network engineer (analyst, admin, consultant), why do you monitor servers in Orion today? If nothing else, to prove/disprove server related issues are not "network issues". Our network and server groups constantly butt heads on what a core cause for a problem is. "Must be a network issue",…

I have a condition I'm still looking into where a device has been down for weeks, but periodically I get a DOWN email alert for no reason. We haven't rebooted Orion, haven't changed anything...just out of the blue, "Device 12345, down". This device has been down for the lifetime of 8.5.1, and was down when our Orion was…

These aren't Barracuda Spam Firewalls you're talking about, are they? If so, I'd love to see what custom pollers you have defined. I haven't had the time to looking into adding those into our monitoring. You could save me some homework. :)

Never mind... It's a Cleared/Not-Cleared thing. My REPORT was showing acknowledge/not acknowledged, and the Event viewer only shows "not acknowledged", by default. You can change the drop-down to show acknowledged events, but there is no way to show "both" types.

Curious, when I recently rebooted my Orion server this alert triggered the following email: Volume Percent Used: -2 Volume Space Available: -2 I've never monitored/alerted on volumes before, so maybe this is a long-standing issue.

Only one attachment per post...Modern Blue.

If you're asking for the ability to have devices listed in Cirrus, but not actively polled for configurations, etc. - essentially, "unmanaging" them - Feature request.

I think that variable changed in 8.5, didn't it? At least, that's when it caught me scratching my head, anyway.

I reported to SolarWinds support the same issue about syslog messages being stored with the wrong Message Type several months ago. They were also SEC-AUTH messages from our RADIUS server, being catagorized as various other Messages Types, that they clearly weren't. I, also, have not heard on any fix. We, ultimately, quit…

Or, if someone would be so kind to zip up their /NetPerfMon/Admin directory and attach to this thread, that would be super.

I've long wanted the ability to define a MENU and a SUBMENU. So, when I click on "Custom Views" as a menu item, a 2nd bar pops up underneath the main menu bar, that lists all the submenu items I've grouped under the "Custom Views" menu item. That way, the submenu is only displayed when the main menu item is "active". An…

I hope someone has mentioned this as one of the "things you can do with Basic but not Advanced...", thread.

Interestingly enough, I received a trigger alert from my configuration above last night when a Cisco 1130AG set as a bridge changed his parent AP to a different device. The 1130's channels are set to "Repeater Parent Frequency", so whichever access point he bridges to, he assumes the same frequency. I received a trigger…

I see it's not a bug, just isn't displaying as I thought it would/should have. Only the Interface Name is displayed in the title of the view. The Alias, which is the DESCRIPTION of the interface, is not displayed. Feature request? When one of my interfaces (GigabitEthernet5/23) is being drilled down and analyzed, it would…

Moreover, I created a single custom property whose trigger condition is, "SerialNumber haschanged". I have a single Trigger Action that includes logging a test message in the NetPerfMon Event Log. I then changed the "SerialNumber" custom property for a node. ...nothing was logged. No event triggered. So, individual…

Also, anyone customize the icons? I've never liked the fact that the same Icon is used for multiple purposes. i.e. the "Alert Reset" and "Monitoring Started" both have the triangular lightening bolt. "Alert Triggered", "Node Changed", and "Interface Changed" all have the triangular exlamation point, etc. I've been…

I'll take that as a "no"... (read: bump)
