The ability to add report templates or access runtime values for a specific monitor are not available in the current version of the SOAP interface. I'll add these as feature requests for a future release.

For those experiencing this CPU at 100% issue, please ensure that you have a support case open so we can continue to track this properly.

We've added throttled and queuing to the NCM ConfigAutoDownload.exe process in 5.1 to prevent this behavior from happening. If this is still occurring for you with 5.1, we'll definitely want to investigate further! Can you both create NCM support tickets for this issue and include link to this the thread?

We love it when people answer their own questions ;-) Thanks for the confirmation on Windows 2008, but just to be clear, we don't officially support this configuration. We still need to run a full test on Windows 2008. If you find any Windows 2008 interoperability issues, please post them in this forum.

Unfortunately, no it wouldn't. We're exploring ways of allowing scheduled import of configs into the database from the file system, but this isn't something that's possible today.
-
Ok, it doesn't look like this is possible today given the validation restrictions in our device templates. Please open a support ticket and include a reference to this post. The workaround would be to use an Execute Script job to backup via TFTP.

How about: <Command Name="DownloadConfigIndirect" Value="set uploadcfg=\"MP-BEBN-LEAC01\""/>

[ One other basic question...what is a good, basic definition of a "monitor" in the context of ipMonitor? A monitor is anything that you would like to gather a statistic on or see the status of....for example, a PING would count as a monitor, a CPU would count as another monitor, a Disk would count as another monitor. By…

Multi-line reg exp is not supported in 5.1 comparison criteria exclusions. The specific thing we fixed in 5.1 was ignoring changes to the certificate crypto string (see start of this thread). If this isn't working for you, please open a support ticket as there may be something different about your configuration.
-
If you want to use "show run brief" instead of "show running" for your config file, you can edit the appropriate Cisco device template (<install dir>\Configuration Management\DeviceTypes). Change this line: <Command Name="Running" Value="running"/> To: <Command Name="Running" Value="running-brief"/> NOTE: Based on my…

I'm convinced the regular expressions don't work for config compares. I can't even get it to ignore the certificate self-signed line. Just to clarify, in Config Comparison Criteria, multi-line regular expressions are not currently possible. However, single line ignores should work just fine. The every-changing certificate…

Would it satisfy the requirement for you if when viewing the job log you were automatically taken to the end (versus having to scroll down)? Or perhaps, a "go to most recent entry" button?

minidanas, Can you tell me which version of Toolset you are using? To find out, go to Control Panel > Add/Remove Programs and select SolarWinds Engineer's Toolset and select "Click here for more support information". If you're not on 9.1, can you try upgrading to see if this resolves your issue? If it doesn't, please open…

Could you quantify the slowness that you are seeing? If you can elaborate on your expectations, I'm sure we can make the desired improvements. Unlike tftpd32, SolarWinds TFTP Server runs as a service out of the box. If you want to use tftpd32 instead, you can still use the Cisco Config Tools without issue by using the…

I checked with dev and unfortunately there is no workaround. However, once users have logged in the first time to NCM through the Orion NPM website, the credentials are securely cached. At this point, you can disable the customize view option for the user.

Please see this post

Thanks for the posts. We'll look at this for a future release. For internal folks, this is being tracked as #3796

Just to confirm, you are trying to create a CPU Gauge for an Aperto device, correct? The issue may be that the Aperto WiMAX device does not support the MIB we're using to query CPU load. Can you post a screen shot of what you're seeing when you add the Aperto device?
-
Can you please post a screen shot of what you're seeing? It should state that the specific module you're evaluating has X days left (e.g. IPAM evaluation has X days left).
-
That's correct. The only thing to note is that you can't install the NCM integration module on top of Orion until you've upgraded to v9 or higher.

Great! I would assume the CLI interface is similar to the UTM 570. Would you mind filling out the attached device template questionnaire? It asks you to document the commands/prompts required to download the running and startup configs from the device. Thanks!
-
Can you confirm the NetFlow-3.5-Update you applied was SP2? If you're not sure, I would download SP2 from your customer portal, reapply, and then apply the hotfix again.

It's difficult to tell if your particular issue is related to the others. For those experiencing issues with CBQoS charts showing data, please open a support ticket and include reference this thread. We'll need to get the diagnostics to get to the bottom of your specific issue. Thanks, -Chris

This has been fixed in 5.1

As Denny noted, NetFlow will have impact on the database, which is primarily influenced by following factors: * Number of NetFlow source interfaces and their capacity * Average amount of traffic traversing through the network If you know this data, we can come up with some ballpark estimates of DB requirements.

What ipMonitor version to do you see in About dialog? Also, what browser type and version are you using?
-
Can you please open a ticket on this one and post your case number here? I'd like to have one of our support reps take your case and ensure that you get up and running. My personal motivation for doing this is to ensure we can make this process more intuitive moving forward ;-)

I've been fidgeting with the demo of ipMonitor and have really enjoyed it so far, however, I can't seem to figure how to get it to do what I need. The quick of it is... I would like to auto-restart a service if it's found to be stopped. I found in the tools menu how to manualy send a restart, but I can't figure how to get…

I'll definitely add this to the list of candidates. Just curious, how would you expect this feature to manifest itself in the user interface? Would you want to configure the routers to exclude in the global settings or in each inventory job somewhere?

We really do feel your pain on this one. We added a new menu item ('Discover Devices') and our current toolbar control requires us to overwrite personalization for this to show up. Unfortunately, there is no merge option in the control. We spent an inordinate amount of time investigating how we would do merge, but short of…
