  • Your process that you described is quick which is exactly why I originally setup my main alert this way. Here's my problem: I originally had 800 monitors in Alert1. Then I created another alert called Alert2. I moved 50 of the monitors from Alert1 to Alert2. A few weeks later I created Alert3 and moved 50 more from Alert1…
  • today I noticed none of my graphs had any data and the graphs had stopped on 02/23/12 the same time the webpage went unavailable and the .NET error was recorded. I had to reboot the server and the graphs are now working. Restarting the services would not fix this issue.
  • Is Blackberry support still on the wish list for up coming releases of ipMonitor?
  • I will be monitoring Cisco routers, Cisco and Dell switch, Tranzeo AP Radios, Cisco APs, and 50 Win2000 and Win2003 servers with a handfull running MSSQL server. -Charles
  • Is there no way to get Orion website working on IIS when it's hosting multiple websites using host headers? -Charles
  • I can assure you, having the webpage be unavailable and needing to restart the service did not start until I upgraded to 10.5.1 on 01/16/12. I have ran a repair on .NET 2.0, but I have not been able to reboot the server since the 10.5.1 upgrade. I have 2358 monitors, 403 devices. Running on Windows 2003 Server Standard.…
  • Is there an ETA for the 10.5.1 release?
  • I have them set to ping by IP. I've already ran through the issues with FQDNs. I have updated the drivers and now waiting to see if the issue comes back. In the server are two 1000mbps broadcom nics. They were teamed for load balancing, but I have now changed that to fault tolerance. I also disabled "Large Send Offload"…
  • These are the steps I did when I originally configured my Alert. However that was a few months ago and with other admins working with ipMonitor, I want to make sure that all monitors that have been configured since then were added to the alert as well. Someone could have skipped the step of adding a monitor to the alert,…
  • What I was originally saying was that a link depends on two sides to be up and if either side (node) goes down, then technically the link is down as well. However, when you create a link, the status of the link is only determined by pointing it to one device, not both. I understand there is another way of looking at this…
  • nevermind, it's the same on the Adtran's as it is on the Cisco's. OID = 1.3.6.1.2.1.2.2.1.8
  • I used 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.171.1.2.3.1.7 to monitor the tunnel i wanted to watch, but the ID changed over the weekend. Any ideas would be great.
  • I've been an ipMonitor customer for a few years now and I will say the progress with the product has been painfully slow. It's great to see the bandwidth monitors finally separated and some of the bug fixes finally getting addressed. However other items that should be simple to implement must be being left off on purpose…
  • I'm curious if Orion is compatible with Chrome? ipMonitor seems to be the 'red headed step child' for Solarwinds. Is the upcoming release of 10.5 going to support Chrome?
  • The download patch in the Adobe patch is this: http://knowledgebase.solarwinds.com/kb/questions/4410/install_flash_player_22_active_x.msi
  • As nice as Orion is, the cost keeps it out of reach. But for a company of less than 700 client PCs, ipMonitor fits, right?
  • If i had more time to test i would. Glad to see progress is still being made with ipMonitor. Great tool!
  • I do the following as a standard: PING --60 seconds for Up, Warn, and Down --5 before alert is sent CPU, Memory, Services, Etc... --180 seconds for Up, Warn, and Down --5 before alert is sent As long as the PING is a dependency, this will suppress all other alerts.

  • I now need to do the same thing but with an Adtran 4305 router. Anyone know the OID for ifOperStatus?
  • I've seen this same thing. I ended up using SNMP instead.
  • I tried this and it removed all monitors except those that are currently down. Any monitors that were down within the last hour but are now back up did not show up in this group. What I would like to see is only monitors that made it to status=down within the last hour but are currently in any status. Is this possible?
  • I found a ipmfatal.log in \solarwinds\ipmonitor\logs. The Date Modified date is the exact same as the date/time of the .NET error in Event Logs. Here are the contents: 2011-12-13 09:02:44 [build1371] cgi | uri(/cfg/cgi?sid=1478792537722&area=ajax&action=dashboard&tid=100007577504&nolayout=true&doparents=true&dofull=true&)…
  • On Adtran's support page for the NetVanat 4305, they have a guide on how to monitor their builit in 5 minute CPU average. The OID for this is 1.3.6.1.4.1.664.5.53.1.4.4. They also have the OID for memory, 1.3.6.1.4.664.5.53.1.4.8. The title for this document is "Custom Pollers in SolarWinds Orion".
  • Was a solution ever found for this? I have a Cisco ASA with a site-to-site tunnel that I need to monitor.
  • It's not always the same devices, however a few are more common than others. Some devices are on the local LAN and some are on the WAN. When this first started to occur, I was adding the MAC/IP to the local ARP table to get it fixed. I thought it could have been the Dell switches we use, 5324 that this server is connected…
  • This would definitely be a nice feature, a type of audit log tracking changes by login name. With multiple admins, you got to know who to scream at...
  • Orion I like, the price i can't afford... Can any help me with finding the correct MIB for monitoring the serial interface status on a Cisco 2611 or 2621 router? I found a OID tree on Cisco's website, but with the hundreds listed, I don't know which is the one I need.
  • I just noticed the same issue today. Flash shouldn't have a download link in the package. It should prompt you to manually download and upload like frgpugs said. Not sure what is going on with that package.
  • This won't work as I do not add by groups or devices, I add by monitors. I need a way to determine if any of my 800 monitors are not in an alert. I really don't want to check one by one. -Charles S
