silverbacksays - it was a poller issue. for some reason one of the pollers has stopped gathering snmp stats. restart of the services fixed the issue.

Check your device and make sure the CPU is not pegged which will result in SNMP packets being dropped so critical Fn does not fail on the device.

Agreed! If you are not connected to your DB then you are unable to either write the new polled data from the component or read the newly stored data, if not both.
