I am getting an error stating : conversion failed when converting date and or time form character string.... Of Course I did adjust to a getdatetime, with the startPeriod 30 days before the getdatetime. SET @startPeriod='getdatetime() - 30' <---- several variations of this SET @endPeriod='getdatetime()' Suggestions,…

I started with a Google Search of "riverbed actual status for 'Healthy' " EDIT : *The FIRST Non-Paid for search result was clicked on* - which turned out to be a MIB for SteelHead devices - which appears to be what you are running after viewing your screenshots again.…

silverbacksays - it was a poller issue. for some reason one of the pollers has stopped gathering snmp stats. restart of the services fixed the issue.

Any update with this issue? We are experiencing the same at the moment...

Thanks. Don't count out other folks accounts as well. jeremeek, has had good success. I have had the process work, but personally have had more issues with it than others. It may have just been the servers or specific versions as well. If you have a dev setup, that would be the place to experiment to get your exact…

It makes sense since with that update query, i think anyone with high numbers in any table will see that same similar error. Key is reviewing the log data to find your specific table. But if it is a table that you can not lose data on you're going to need a Support Case. I will say the improvements on SQL 2016 are quite…

I ran the update yesterday for a client, this is the box we saw - We needed to keep the NTA FSDB so, cancel was selected and then confirmed was clicked. During the install process the installer did say NTA 4.4 - even though we were only updating to 4.2.3. At the end it says the same NTA 4.4 - success/complete It was only a…

Of course you have the answer...as you do seem to hold the holy grail of NPM Customization. Maybe we need a new badge. Thanks for the help as always!

ebradford was going to say about the same...though I see it more like this. ckscord, Try this -- unless you want the Application_Secondary to nix the exclusions for Applications, keep the Parens(). Applications <> 'Exchange - Public Folder' And Applications <> 'Exchange - Hub' And Applications <> 'SQL' And Applications <>…

I started looking through the DB to find a correlation of sysID to the Machine Type... *nothing found yet that I can edit that will drive my page views by device Type* for MIBs.cfg updated Downloading the SolarWinds MIB Database I have also found this reference for what the system polls for; some of the mfgr's have a…

Check that MIBS.cfg - if what you DL'ed and installed was dated it may not have the most recent DB included. * I am making a side note to keep a back up - and verify file saze of this mibs.cfg before and after any UPGRAYYYYYD!

Interesting. Does the issue happen with the same nodes over and over, or does this seem to be rotational and you just never know which node goes dormant until it does? Any of the devices have snmp being dropped showing in their logs? Is there an initial Success with SNMP v3 on the test and even polling after submit, but it…
-
Check your device and make sure the CPU is not pegged which will result in SNMP packets being dropped so critical Fn does not fail on the device.
-
If I remember correctly they are brought back without the custom properties information, and that for us made sure no alerts triggered. But no, it should not cause any loss or outage. It simply puts the missing nodes (Nodes that remain in NCM but not NPM), back into NPM so you have the chance to appropriately…

Dang it, I almost put up screen shots for you.. Sorry I should have went with the instinct. Edit the template, Add a Component then choose which component you want by name. This shot is from adding a component to a new template - but its the same menu option.. Then choose your type; If you arrange by category name PS shows…

looks like it.. I'm not 50+ anymore.

Quick and painless; man that works like a champ!
-
Agreed! If you are not connected to your DB then you are unable to either write the new polled data from the component or read the newly stored data, if not both. It would explain why you are getting the no new log entries, and with that type of script that output can be normal to let you know the component is still…

Couple of tools you can use to scan/MIB Walk your devices. SolarWinds SNMP Walk: A new tool for collecting SNMP MIB walks - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support OR If you have the Engineers Toolset there is the MIBWalk, it is an older tool and works well on simple devices. I prefer it in some cases. With the MIBWalk…

SNMP on the server itself can be gotten to by right clicking 'computer' shooing manage then go to the snmp service.. or if there is a monitoring app; you can go to that service at stop it. Properties on the SNMP should bring that up, usually it is the strings that you would use to poll that specific server (or where that…

SNMP is not a default protocol for humons under 21, upload the protocol constraints and details to said persons flash, import into the start up config and reboot.

I would suspect that no one has Ack'ed an alert. If you change the 2nd to last line to -> where a.acknowledged is NULL You will see the un-ack'ed Alerts.

Correct and Correct, you will need a clever JOIN statement to pull a report and Match those values!

Hence my reply, as I am willing to destroy (MOST) anything for you... if it gets too expensive(or non legal), i might require a proof of ownership and a documented request to alleviate any legal issues.

Every year since being on the service desk, and now even after I am no longer on the service desk; I get an email on my anniversary date (@ current job) from my very first support customer : My Mother! At least she remembers all the headaches I gave myself by thinking she would be okay with a computer on her own.

glad to know something made sense. Let me know how it works out.

You are missing Absolutely nothing!!! Last Boot Has Changed - IS ALL YOU NEED! - I further Exclude, certain community strings for devices (UPS) that I dont care about reboots - since most of theirs is just the NIC going offline.

Very Nice!!! and Congratulations on the Fix!

Glad to hear that, and thanks for the conclusion!
