now to sneak this in so it goes unnoticed.

No; and the main concern here is triggering alerts when nodes that do not exist anymore get put back into NPM. I have to schedule the process because for us it is a change to the production system. At least that is the way the process reads to us, as it would place the nodes back into NPM. Then we would be able to remove…

That will be the day. thanks for the feedback!

Yes, you need a policy report still. The Rules you build go into policies, and then you combine policies to generate a report. You can have a policy with a single rule, you can have a report with a single policy to set on any node you need. I would say if this rule coincides with another rule within an existing policy you…

I'll wear it out in that time frame... all but that 1 dang pocket I can not find again!

If superfly99 used your Poller then GREAT! But I was hoping he could confirm that... if not confirm the OID that is on his Poller. I know that may be the default name, but I often change my poller names to or from any default needed to match, or list in a way that I prefer.

2nd link - has Many HEALTH Entries; but 2/3rd's the way down it Begins to Mention SteelHead Health. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- steelheadHealth OBJECT-TYPE SYNTAX OCTET STRING MAX-ACCESS read-only STATUS current DESCRIPTION "Steelhead current health.…

newkidd2 You are correct, in a first instance sort of way. And I may be wrong in the second instance. BUTT! I have ambition to create a report using an outer join, to pull the node name from node DB..... or pull user info, and add that to the event report. Either way, instead of adding /deleting to see the event, i…

We were getting the same error as above (in the thread post), Value can not be null. I was looking into this and found the support page for the .net fix that justthwackit posted above; 1. stop IIS 2. Stop all Solarwinds Services on that device 3. delete the following folders: -…

I had to ask the engineer that worked directly with SW support on that box; thanks derik.pfeffer! "Admin service dropping along with module service. When we stopped all services, there where about 10 or so processes still running that were business layer Manually killed processes and then restarted all stopped Orion…

Vote this Idea up, because I know you see benefit in this... http://thwack.solarwinds.com/ideas/3430 But yes, either edit on the poller side, or let me make a template in application to show the rows I want; even if they still all poll.

+1 Me to my mom -> "Do you see ... ?" (insert ANYTHING you would see on the PC monitor) Mom to me -> "Where is that?"

Yes... we have SAM.. so hardware health monitoring via SAM, of my Cisco Switches will give this : Assettag field you say. What setup is needed to bring this out into plain sight?

IF you are running 11.5 - remove the link as it was just transferred with the upgrade. The page is not there because the main "Manage Nodes" Page will now allow you to do everything you are looking to do from the Manage NCM Nodes page. The repair won't fix what is not broken, it's simply changed.

Your Table is skinnier, my table is shorter. Of course I could remove the Admin status, truncate the poller titles to bring the column names closer and my table would just be smaller with more data; I have massive use for the Model and Serial #'s so adding those to the table was GRAND for me!
-
ALL conditions must be true. custom tabular poller = cefcModuleOperStatus (or whatever you have renamed it to) value NOT = ok So when the module status is not OK, then it sends an alert.

How much do you pay for Cisco TAC? Or a Fluke Gold Contract? All relative, and I've sat on the phone with them for hours as well. Had web portal cases created that were 'never received'. I get the importance in use and the reliance aspect that we all use SW for... systems are not without their issues, the extra time I have…

I left a msg Friday for a call back - got an email this morning - I really was expecting a call Friday or sometime over the weekend. I quit checking my emails for that msg or missed call on Saturday evening - since my phone was not ringing - well until someone besides SW called... - Pardon my bluntness but this is just…

you may need to reference your DB Manager and find that field/variable for the group label.

Very nice Report. I set it up and instantly am able to see any FAILED instance of an email with the reason.

Are there any other processes that should be picked up for monitoring is really what I am looking for. My NCM server has processes that my Web Engine / NPM Does not.
-
if the view ID is the same, then it would be related to the account. If you are familiar with the DB Manager you may be able to find the details in one of the views tables and make sure they match.
-
It does show current connected users and a history, but you have to click into the AP to see these details, or generate a report that you can add to the controller details page.
-
You can also limit these to Fans, Power Supplies, etc. your alert does not have to cover ALL of the hardware sensors. Also you can manage the Hardware sensors for entities that are not present (extra redundant PS) and turn those off - so you do not alert on what is not there. (in NPM 11.5)

it has been a few weeks since I read the release notes. Thanks for the help! And yes, one day we will all be in the magical place we want to be for now this search option will work.

I suppose if they are your friends they may not think about it... at least until now, *wondering why some people never respond...* this is too funny. But a good way to manage and keep the Social Media Type Bull Corn out of the mix.
