Awesome!

holding DHCP addresses for more than a couple of days makes no sense in my book if you have lots of changes. Or at least lower your interval of refresh on your server if you know you have a move or mass change coming.

#bumpsquad - how many of you use VNQM Bump!

It all starts with that phone call for Help. The life line, for those with issues; and the feedback for those fixing the issues. With that being said, you must have a good back and forth with the service desk, they have to take feedback as well on how they handle calls and what they are able to troubleshoot with the tools…

Folks, set this up using the Windows Data Connection Wizard, once you have that Data Source entity in place you can then load that 'Data Connection' into Excel and further set to update/refresh each time you open so the data is current. Or refresh manually. I would not expect a template for this, you have to set this up…

only if those switches are SNMP capable... the light switches, not the one's we had to go get ourselves...if only those switches has counters...

You've got to have a Emergency Folder with all the details printed out.... but keep it updated.

On a more serious note, I think the fact that we only have 3 strips of bacon should be at least a warning level. *Cough*sTom*eone has obviously changed our thresholds here. SS Events show it happened before we were reduced to just 3 strips!

This my friend could be the beginning of something incredibly epic! I specifically like the idea of correlated metrics from the different modules.

Though this is not exactly my area, IP SLA / Jitter Type Analytics and then MOS Scores tell us how well the quality is maintaining. Normally it is when we see RED on a larger part of the setup that causes us to motion to the Telecom Engineer's. If I could only get credential info (service account and snmp setup added…

Really great insight, Thanks for the read. I'm trying to get our VM folks to let SW peer a little into their environment.

Excellent, I think that "Why" could be the compass in decision making when it comes to structuring. Having the underlying understanding, or even the underlying reason or background from the decision maker. Knowing this info usually sheds light on what they think is important, allow you to make sure that is covered - then…

By George I think you've Got IT! Keeping IT Simple Stupid - implies there is a lack of basic knowledge to even begin to understand, hence why you keep it simple. Keeping IT Stupid Simple - implies there is no real though required to interpret what you see, you simplicity is understood by even the most confused and bumbling…

Visibility needs a few extra screens, just another day.

* The trick is correlation, as we span over several departments... some departments have the tools, and when I am at we have our skills + The Orion Platform. InfoSEC may see something, or have a red flag to investigate (they can tell you the traffic caused, locations to and from, insight into the bot/mal/virus, file…

Not even SP 2010/2013 so you can have multiple editors? And no admin - if you have to wait for them to get back to check it back in...Okay, I could see how that could be fun.

Awesome... I think this could be useful...

Nice! Good luck getting some 'quiet on the set'

Ah the crux, or at least the reminder that if you are not malleable in this field you will die off like the dinosaur that you are (regardless of age). Knowing the in's and out's of what you do and work with is key, so when a new system comes - or when you find yourself in a new location and everything is different - it's…

End-to-end visibility - it is what we all need. Several scoped/specfic views provide enough insight to know, "Something is wrong" NPM, SAM and the other monitoring applications are excellent - but the AppStack appears to bring several of these things together. Let me tell you, going from Node to Node, traversing DB's and…
