kellytice thanks for the response. So if I am to understand your answer correctly; there isn't a way in WHD to have a schedule that executes a job that modifies tickets on a scheduled basis?

Forum Managers: Could you please move this post to the Feature Request forum?

1. Have the ability to assign each custom property to a group. When viewing the custom properties on the web console, they should display within their group instead of all being displayed alphabetically. Yes, I would absolutely love to see this. 2. Have the ability to reorder the properties within each group so they…

The best way to do this is to build a dashboard in Orion that has all of the things you want. Then schedule that as a report to be send out using the Report Scheduler. The other option (which I prefer) is just to point folks to the dashboard so that they can get the "report" data on demand when ever they want, this avoids…

If we can monitor it, We want to alert on it, If we alert on it we want to report on it.... Putting in a new feature without all 3 is an unfinished product, well in my mind. I.E. Groups! I totally agree with this. Monitor, Alert, Report; that is the foundation of a NMS.

Can you give an example of what it is that you are trying to do?
-
Well, I was able to work around this by creating a custom view, HTML Resources and then modifying the URL to reference a Liner Gauge. However, I would still like to see this option built in by default to APM.

My understanding is that the SolarWinds team is moving away from the console management tools toward a more web based solution. In doing so they have been trying to make the web-based interfaces as user friendly and efficient as possible. What specific management page are you seeing the "verifying" stuff on and how…

Just out of curiosity, is there some reason you want different people logging into different websites for Orion? If it's just for the sake of limiting people to only see specific systems/views, you can do this in Orion via the use of Custom Properties and Account/Views Limitations. You can purchase licenses for additional…

I have put in a Feature Request for this HERE.

You can allow them to edit custom properties; however it's done on a per custom property basis by adding a new resource to your Node level view called Edit Custom Property. Below is a screenshot of where you can find that resource... Hope this helps!

Ah, I actually found the syntax for accomplishing this in the Orion NPM Admin guide, it is as follows for anybody else that comes here looking for it... DOMAIN/.../Login.aspx
-
This was caused by a WordPress plugin called Bad Behavior which can be found HERE. To resolve this problem change the User Agent in the Component Monitor to something like "Orion Poller" and this should resolve the problem.

I continue to have problems with Reports taking a very long time to run and in come cases never completing. I have two different LEM systems in different environments and I am having this problem in both environments so it's repeatable. I currently have a support ticket open on this, have provided diagnostics several times…

We are also having issues with reports. Several of my custom reports broke and I have had to re-create them. Also, many of the default reports now take a very long time to run and sometimes timeout and never complete.

After speaking with Craig McDonald on the phone I found out that this information is not tracked historically. However, there may be a variable that can be used in an alert to capture this information.

Somebody... anybody?

In your Advanced Alert that triggers when a node is down go to where you have your alert action defined and open that action, you will find a tab called Alert Escalation where you should be able to accomplish this. Hope this helps!

I run Orion on Windows 2008 R2 Standard on VM's in a virtualized environment running VMWare and it all runs perfectly. The only system that is still physical is my SQL database. My NPM Primary, Additional Poller, Additional Web, and NCM are all Windows 2008 R2 Standard VM's.

How possible this is depends on what MIB's and OID's are made available by the device you are trying to poll. Unfortunately not all vendors were created equally. What data is available depends on the SNMP agent and the hardware that it's running on. I would use the SolarWinds Engineers Toolset to do an SNMPWalk on the…

Real Memory and Swap Space are supposed to be in the element that contains your Disk Volumes, this is true for all systems and is how the system is designed to function. In order to only get notified for the disk volumes and not the memory and swap space you simply need to edit the Advanced Alert and specify "Fixed Disk".…

I did a full walk on the device using the MIB's that I have using Engineers Toolset and I came up empty on CPU as well. It doesn't appear to be an option.

Donald I just ran across this integration info between SolarWinds and Opengear. I realize that this isn't product made by SolarWinds but it looks like there is some good integration. http://opengear.com/solarwinds-technote.html

We are in the same boat ad the original poster, waiting for things to stabilize before the upgrade. Also, is there a release available now that includes the 10.1.1 as well as hotfix 1 and hotfix 2? Much like the original poster, I need to know what all I will need to download and install at this point.
-
I also agree. I am pretty much in support of it all becoming web console managed so long as permissions are designed in such a way that I can properly control who has access to what.
-
I just did this on a lab system today and found that it let me convert the SNMP node into an Agent node but historical data was lost.

We are a MSP and cloud service provider so I have an opportunity to work with customers with all sorts of different availability requirements. I am also in the process of replacing our current patching solution with a new system. The unfortunate truth of patching is that you need to do it and it takes both time and…

In the Universal Device Poller tool on the system console you can sort your systems by different sets of criteria and bulk add/remove pollers by clicking on check boxes for the different systems. Hope this helps!
-
You will need to install the LEM agent on the boxes with the Apache logs and then configure the Apache connector for the Apache logs on those systems from the LEM console. Hope this helps!

Isn't HTTP Get pretty much what APM is going to do if you configure it to monitor the URL on an External Node? That is the only way I can think of to do this. I am unaware of any way to accomplish this with NPM.
