Basically as far as I can tell the Suppression is a stand alone query of the database (not related to the Alert query) that if "True" will suppress the alert.

Hey Byron-- Thanks for your feedback. Ooops, I meant for Eric to contact Support. Eric, can you do that now. Sorry about the mix up. I've also let the PM know. M Thanks for the clarification. I am still not sure what good a support ticket is expected to do. It is my understanding that in this case the product is working as…

I am seeing the same thing on the most current version of Orion and APM. The process I am looking at is on a Windows system.
-
I have not yet tried that but I can give it a shot and let you know what I find. The question I have is what exactly does that key do?

Having a one-stop-shop in the web interface to manage (create, disable, enable, etc) all of the alerts within Orion would be a huge plus. Service nodes would be nice but at this point it seems that Groups are essentially the same thing, if not I am not fully understanding the use case. The option to unmanage indefinitely…

Jack While it may not be exactly what you are looking for, I thought I would point out the services offered by PagerDuty. It's a service that provides custom escalations and will work with just about any monitoring product including SolarWinds Orion. http://www.pagerduty.com/

Yeah, I opened support ticket #267407. We have over 3000 component monitors between the two pollers with most of them on the Additional Polling engine. It has been suggested in the support ticket that we add more memory to the Polling Engine but that doesn't make much sense to me since it only uses about 50% of the memory…

Jesper After getting up to current SP5 with all hot-fixes we don't seem to be experiencing this problem. If you are still having this problem after updating your system you should definitely open a support ticket and maybe even reference this thread. After talking with the development team that is assigned to this problem,…

I have a theory on this problem. I have noticed that when ever I find the system in this failed state that the "SNMP Outstanding" is in the 2k range which is well above it's normal 100ish. I get a funny feeling that something is causing the SNMP polls to get behind or wedged so that the system works itself into a failure…

Awesome, thanks for this info. Once I have upgraded to those new versions I will be happy to test.

In my environment I use the same application name across all of the servers that it is applied to. Having different names for the same thing would just be confusing. Since the Orion APM does a good job of specifying "Application_Name on System_Name" I find no need to have multiple names for the same thing. In the case of…

Ah, this looks awesome, thanks aLTeReGo! I am curious how Manage Engine is able to collect the data that they collect, it would be interesting to reverse engineer how that works. If I was able to collect the data I could certainly reproduce the dashboards in Orion, if not something even better.

I use additional web servers and do not really have a complaint about performance. Anytime I have to use the main webserver on the main box now THAT is slow but again we do not use so it is not an issue for us. Hrm, so maybe the solution to slow WebUI performance is to use an additional web server. I would be interested to…

Here is an example from yesterday with Orion versus the Other system for two different customers... Customer A Orion Bytes Transmitted: 3.2 Gbytes Orion Bytes Received: 9.5 Gbytes Other Bytes Transmitted: 3.8 Gbytes Other Bytes Received: 10.5 Gbytes Customer B Orion Bytes Transmitted: 1.8 Gbytes Orion Bytes Received: 3.4…

So, I assume the use case here is clear and that while this can be done, the solution is less than optimal. Is there something in the works to hopefully make this type of thing easier and perhaps more user friendly?

So, I have SolarWinds Orion running right now and I have a bunch of Syslogs being sent to it. For testing LEM I would like to be able to forward the Syslogs from Orion to LEM, how would I make this work?
-
Funny thing you say that, less than 5 minutes ago I got a response on my support ticket I have opened on this and he pointed out the same thing to me when I noted this post. I guess this means I will be waiting for version next before I try and move several dozens of nodes all at the same time.

every single time they ask us about features/things we want, people ask for a better advanced alert editor.. I have seen 4 versions now, and nothing has been done about this thing. it might be a feature request, but its getting ignored. LOL, it was you that submitted the feature request, I also put my signature on it. It's…

OK, if I have to install something then I want something that will not cause me any problems. I plan to forward events from my domain controllers. Would it be easier to forward them as snmp traps and configure a report off that? is that possible? You can convert them to traps but in my experience that will be more work,…

Yes, I am able to see all of this. I should also note that I virtualized both of my Orion pollers and the two of them are running great sharing a resource pool of only 750MHz of one core of one CPU.

well in Orion, i can restrict a user via the IP Address Range Limitation. I have confirmed that with that set, when they click on manage nodes, they can only see/search nodes in their range. Hrm, I haven't tried this but it sounds like it works in the UI. The question is with this restriction in place, what happens if a…

Ah, that helps a lot. I am accessing the NCM via the Network Configuration Manager module at the top of my NPM interface, I am assuming this is the integration module. I guess I had assumed that if it was setup that way there wasn't a separate web interface for the NCM. Adding the device to the NPM did resolve the issue.…

The idea has been created HERE. Thanks for your help on this!

cobrien thanks so much for getting back to me on this! I will let my network team know they can ignore this for now and will keep an eye out for a fix in the future. Thanks again!

Is this information table data? If so you can go in and edit the element to combine them. If it's chart data it can't be combined.

In our case, being a University, the Big 4 give us a huge (40-60%) discount. Nimsoft went to a subscription model and for us, priced themselves out of anything. Numsoft is now the Most expensive solution for us :) Manage Engine is so fragmented, and there are so many modules, you never know if you are getting what you…

So if this is true then I should be able to drop my maintenance cost for the "Orion APM Module for Orion SLX Polling Engine" product as that is now free with "Orion APM module ALX". Is that correct?

I have worked with a couple other customers on this and one item which may help or may not for you if on the maps you can right click on the map in Atlas and select map properties and in there you can set the view limitation rights. By default this is turned off, if you turn it on and someone changes the viewID in the…

Hi Byrona-- Understand what you are saying here. I'll make sure Brandon sees it and he will likely have some helpful comments. M Actually, if you guys have any tips or workarounds that you could suggest for this that could be very helpful. That could get me by for the time being. I understand that it is what it is and…

I should also note that I opend a Feature Request for the functionality that I need HERE and I opened a thread to better understand the use case for State Variables HERE. Both of these threads were based on my understnding from this thread.
