This post isn't showing up in my activity log. Are others able to see this feature request?

Since disabling the hardware monitoring doesn't make the alerts go away as previously noted I decided to try and modify my alert criteria to work around this issue.. I found an alert criteria that looks to see if the hardware polling is disabled so I tried to add this making the alert not trigger if the hardware polling…

I have tried to do this with several alerts and this just doesn't seem possible even though it seems like it should be existing functionality. I have also seen a few other unanswered questions on this. Can anybody confirm if there is a way to have an alert condition for group member status?

If I am not mistaken, those account will need administrator level access to the system to talk to WMI and PerfMon.

Brandon Two things I think would be nice to have with Kiwi... * Reporting * Web Accss Performance Improvements* Maybe make it run under IIS

Oh yeah, totally awesome idea! 4th'ed.

For customers you can specify a specific node view, you can't specify a specific ESX node view that is separate from the normal node view.
-
How are you trying to get this information, using the application interface, via SQL queries or in some other way? If you are on the most current version you can go into the admin section of the WebUI, under Manage Alerts click Managed Advanced Alerts. In there you can lick on your alerts and expand the Read-only…

One of the "ah-ha" moments with LEM for me was when one of the support techs explained how LEM uses an event taxonomy (the policy). Understanding that is key to writing filters and correlations; before that I was really struggling. I still struggle with it at times but understanding that has made a huge difference.

Seems to accomplish this in Orion all one would need to do is write the SQL query that summarizes things the way that you want and put it into a report. You can then put that report on a summary page and BAM, there you have it! Am I missing anything here?

For all of you that are still following this, I just heard back from SolarWinds support on this... While there wasn't a direct acknowledgement that the data they are polling is incorrect, the development team is going to be updating IVIM in Orion to collect the data the same way that Virtualization Manager does (as it was…

I wanted to update this thread and let you all know that I have a SolarWinds support case open on this that has now been escalated up to their development team. The Sr. Support tech that I worked with was great and verified that the data was certainly incorrect and inconsistent with the CPU data listed on the individual…

This is actually a relatively large concern for me as I was planning to use Orion to start generating some capacity management reports; however, I am not sure I can move forward with that if this data isn't accurate.

You could try using SNMP Informant. You install it on your systems and then there are a set of MIB's it opens up to you. http://www.snmp-informant.com/
-
The way that we do this (we use HP Proliants as well) is by watching for SNMP Traps. The HP systems will send traps when their hard drives change state.

Any word on this?

Somebody....?

Assuming that you are wanting to show both of those data-points in a single graph then you are correct; there is not currently a way to do this native to Orion. What you can do is write a query to get that information out of the database using something like SQL Server Reporting Services or even Excel and then graph it…

I noted a similar concern as well which you can see HERE.

It would appear that this uses the Email Template that does exist and is editable via the WebUI, it's the "Disabled Account Reply" template. The name is somewhat misleading as this also applies to the case when creation of tickets is disabled.
-
I am pretty sure that is only available in APM. APM is an absolutely awesome product and worth getting if you need to monitoring that type of application level stuff.
-
Would it make sense to also setup a distribution group for OnCall and when the on-call person changes go in and change the distribution group? This would give you a single point to make changes when the on-call person changes.

I ended up opening a ticket with SolarWinds support and received the following response which answered he question perfectly... Until a rollup is done on the data the Avg, Min and Max values will all be the same. Once a rollup is done, detail to hourly for example, then you will have unique values for each. And again once…

We are working on a project using SSRS to get data from the database and having that data be the same as what NPM is showing is very important. If anybody could help me out this this it would be much appreciated!
-
Just thinking off the cuff here... If you also have Orion NPM, use SNMP and advanced alerts for this, it will make your life much easier. If you are using Orion APM and performance counters, I would create a single template with all of the drives that you would potentially use. Then as you apply the template to specific…

This is not currently possible but is a popular feature request. I would recommend you go put your name on the feature request along side the rest of us. = )
