Interesting. We have seen instances with NPM traffic where a setting / ”feature” on the firewall called “spoof detection” was dropping some of the Solarwinds traffic thinking it was malicious. This firewall setting was a global setting nothing to do with the specific rule to allow Solarwinds traffic.

Are the servers being monitored close network wise to the poller.. or are the servers spread around the country. I am wondering if it’s a timing issue. 90% of the servers we are monitoring are all in the same building as the SAM poller.

SAM 5.2. Will check this out but I call tell you that SAM polling works fine when running on server 2003 and has issues on server 2008. No changes were made .. just moving the server from 1 poller to another using the node management page
