If it works for you, please share the query!

Not accurate, at least not for NPM. A server with 16 quad-core CPUs is one node.

Thanks! I've never had to manipulate just part of a field before, so this is very useful.

If this is only an issue with monitored Windows devices, consider monitoring with WMI instead of SNMP. It's a workaround, but it works.

APM is the old name for SAM. It looks like the APM appreviation is still used in a lot of places in SAM.

What is available depends on what the machine returns when polled. I have seen Windows boxes, polled via WMI or agent, that do not show interfaces.

The last time I spoke with solarwinds support they said this would break things. The tech explained that the configuraiton wizard will only recognize an upgrade and update the database schema if an upgrade happened on the server, so migrating to a box with newer software will result in the database not updating properly.…

I got my information directly from SolarWinds. See https://support.solarwinds.com/Success_Center/Network_Performance_Monitor_(NPM)/NPM_Administrator_Guide/Licensing_SolarWinds_Network_Performance_Monitor/NPM_licensing_levels This page states the SL100 license covers "Up to 100 nodes, 100 interfaces, and 100 volumes (300…

I don't know if it still is, but port 8787 used to be the default port for the Orion website.

A wireless charger with the Thwack logo would look very nice on my desk. And a shirt larger than current offerings would look nice on me.
-
I was curious enough to look at Faceook and found 166 intermediate nodes! I can only screenshot a tiny portion of the graph, even zoomed out as far as Netpath will go.
-
I attempted to import this report into NPM 12.2 / Orion core 2017.3, and it is not compatible with the current versions of the Orion platform.

I do not believe this is not something that end users can easily customize. You would have to go into the website files, find the correct file, and edit it. But the change would not be supported and would revert when you ran the configuration wizard.

I just went into the customer portal, to the hotfix download. When I click on release notes I'm redirected to core 2018.4 release notes, but the download file has 2019.2 in the name. Hopefully this will get fixed soon.

Another place that's a great resource is the customer portal. You can find a link at the top of the Solarwinds home page. After logging in to the customer portal, go to the Education and Training dropdown menu. They have plenty of videos and even live, instructor lead courses where you can ask questions.

You can monitor if a link across the internet is up by monitoring the destination IP address as an ICMP node. If you want to monitor the availability of a specific TCP port, you could create a Netpath probe to that ip;port But monitoring if a specific service is available can't be done using NPM. This can be done with…

Asset inventories appear to be reported using the following OIDs: * DisplayName: 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.6.3.1.2 * Version: 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.6.3.1.101 * Publisher: 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.6.3.1.4 * InstallDate: 1.3.6.1.2.1.25.6.3.1.5 There's an SNMP walk tool in the Solarwinds install folder you can use to pull all available OIDs from a…

Did you find a solution?

Hey Rod, where is the job? Not that I'm looking for a new job or anything...

I strongly suspect Network Atlas will be going away in a future release, but I haven't seen features like wireless heat maps in them so you're probably safe using Network Atlas for now. And you don't need to download it as it's already installed on your primary Orion server.

I found the email address is in both the Actions and ActionProperties tables, so if you wanted to try updating via query you will need to modify at least two tables. ActionProperties.PropertyValue only contains the email address so a simple UPDATE would suffice, but Actions.Description is going to require string…

I guess it's time to add a fourth SCP certification.

I know that changing your username used to be an option but I didn't see it just now when I went to edit my profile.
