any idea in with release we can expect a improvement of syslog and trap environment? we wait since about 5year on that, an there are at lot of ideas around... we need this one, syslog's and trap's are a very imported part on a NMS system! regards Pascal

In my opinion, most imported (as already mentioned) is the support of SNMP TRAPS AND SYSLOG TRAPS CAN RAISE a ALERT. Every other NMS-tool can do this, in fact this is one of the most important feature. Now I can see that it is not even on the list of „what we are working on“! Big disappointment to me

I agree, this will be a discussion next mainteneance support renewal! I can not go on like this. The topic SNMP-MIB (self-compiling) and alert management out of a Trap or Syslog is simply BAD.....

there sould be a native way to doo this, it is mutch more interesting to see the "time where the node went down" then to see the time of the alert.
