hallo, it would be better to integrate syslog and traps into NPM-Web, all the event's are saved in to a database, and can be related to each other....

it would be even better if the Interface bandwidth value "now" would be compared with the values of the last 7 (or x days) days for the same time window and check if it is 10% (or xx % ) higher/lower and trigger a alert. So you can monitor nice the Uplink traffic and be alerted on anomly's.

and it sould be possible that when one update out of 100 device failded, the rest of the updateprocess is going on, and ist not stoping on the device that may be temporary down....

hy, enyone... is there a solution to import "the old" syslog / trap alert rules into LA somehow with a SQL string? I got lot's of alert definitions that need to be migrated to LA... happy for any help....

sorry, trap's and syslog's are not "old school, it is stat of the are for event's on most network-device on planet.... so sorry, i think it is very importend...

we need to escalate this! unbelievable! one of (if not the most) important feature in a NMS!

maybe we need to rise a new idea, integrate Trap/Syslog management into NPM Web (like the reports, events, alarming) it was befor on a server-app as well, but not it is perfectly integreated... step 1, then step 2 get the alert's nicely done...
