Serena, I opened a ticket with support. Native Orion VMAN polling is seeing the capacity issue through guest tools and has the OOB 5% alarm enabled, but for whatever reason the condition isn't activating the alarm.

Are the VMAN 'Custom Label' values stored in the Orion database anywhere? If not, are they stored in the VMAN database accessible through SWQL?
-
Agreed. We had no issues with communication between VMAN and vCenter either after the update to vCenter 5.5 U3.
-
It's not exactly what I need, but probably about as close as I'll get.

I just converted from the VMAN appliance to the integrated poller in Orion. With the appliance, this alert seemed to just use the information from vCenter from the info reported to it by guest tools. Can you confirm that I now have to monitor with WMI too? Will that require another license, like NPM/SAM?
-
I'm not familiar with the error, but the permissions I used that I didn't have problems with was "browse datastore" at the root of vCENTER.

I noticed the same thing too. I was gonna get the backpack when the points from the May Mission put me over 10,000. But hey, I won the grand prize, so I'm not complaining, lest the villagers and pitchforks come out :-)

If you have a Solar Winds Orion platform, you can add VMAN to it, then it will drop the VMAN data into the Solar Winds Orion database which can be MS SQL. Much easier for us to report against.
