Companies Are Relaxing Their Degree Requirements to Find Top Talent I'm not sure exactly what they are teaching at school these days but I can definitely tell you what they are not.
-
You might try it from home and see if it works there. May be your getting blocked. It seemed to work fine for me.

In keeping with the 'Univers-al' theme of 'Solarwinds' and 'Orion' I think the proper name would be 'ThwackStars' very Univers-al and also RockStar'ish

Oh I see we are on the wrong day.

Great graph!

Over my career I have trained many new engineers and in my experience I have found that I can teach a person that has good soft skills new technical skills, but it's very hard to teach a person with poor soft skills anything..... The most important thing I always looked for in an interview was that the person was a team…

In my state we are now paying 38 cents per gallon fuel tax and our governor wants to raise it another 45 cents per gallon or to 83 cent per…

Thanks for the write up. I still tend to want to save up for an item then purchase it outright -vs- purchasing it on credit.

We are at 99% or better, our goal is 100% and all of them are fed into our ticketing system. Sometimes something will slip through but people tend to complain when they are receiving incorrect tickets so they get cleaned up quickly.

We used to play Croquet then create a new similar game called T-Golf. The holes are 150-250 feet apart and we use a tennis ball and any golf club/iron you want to use, but you only get 1. The flags are placed inside 1" metal poles and the goal is to hit the pole or be within 1 grip length of it. for a hole in 1. Full game…

Copper is getting expensive and the trend was to use less and less of it. That was the whole idea behind the IP phone and plugging your PC into it - 1 wire to the desk. Now you want to fill the ceiling up with thousands of cables just for lighting? No Cisco I don't think so....

Thanks for this excellent series Leon Adato I have been an Orion user for quite some time but just now getting into using SWIS and the API. This was extremely helpful in putting all the pieces together.

Nice write up Rick.

Welcome aboard! I am also from the great state of Arizona!

"encrypting, data masking, and scrubbing out any personally identifiable information." Almost as easy as counting all the stars.

I was logging way more than they state before mine would break. All of my messages logged to a file on disk. Try to keep it local disk if possible, not SAN and it will do better.

I went from Telecom to Retail to Healthcare. Each one required adjustments.
