Thanks everyone for all the great articles !

Upgraded to 2020.2.1 a few weeks back and everything has been working fine.

I worked at a place where they did expect 99.999 percent uptime and they were willing to pay for it. Their systems ran like clockwork. Servers could be failed over for maintenance, SQL clusters could be moved, Disaster Recovery tests ran fairly smoothly, etc. Overall they did a pretty good job. Their testing lab was larger…

Could you provide a similar graph for Professional Support as well? Thanks!

I have nothing!!!! Just a clean desk and work area.

Sounds like this would make a good movie plot. Ethereum bandit makes off with $6.1M after bypassing weak private keys

"it is "their" test and if you want to pass, you need to answer it the way "they" want you to" That is the key reason you need to read the book before taking some of the certification tests. I had my CCNA way before I took the Network + exam but still needed to review the material or wouldn't have had 'their' answers. The…

No amount of education can correct users at this scale. Some people are very good at what they do, but what they do isn't work on computers. We had a company wide email go out this week and there is always the 40 or so people that hit 'Reply All' and send their answer to everyone, then the 40 more that 'reply all' telling…

Thanks for sharing. We are going to O365 soon. Hopefully I have put enough bandwidth monitoring in place for it.

Two weeks ago the buzzword was 'Hadoop' and how we were going to create a big data lake, which dried up into a puddle then into just a teardrop once the higher ups got the pricetag

Not really suprised about Facebook.

From your previous article, this is the one that gets overlooked a lot. If your organization has 1000 equipment rooms its a high probability that 200 of them are unlocked. 10. Physical security It may go without saying that a company’s servers, network devices, and other sensitive infrastructure equipment should be behind…

I'm waiting for the full list to come in :) My company doesn't reimburse be so any of the User Groups or events are 'out of pocket' for me. I typically work it into a vacation and stay a few days to do some outdoor activities, so let's see where we can go this year!

Fortunately, you are in luck, all will be better now. The system is observable in [{\displaystyle t_{0}} ,{\displaystyle t_{1}}] if and only if there exists an interval [{\displaystyle t_{0}} ,{\displaystyle t_{1}}] in {\displaystyle \mathbb {R} } such that the matrix {\displaystyle M(t_{0},t_{1})} is nonsingular. If…

I'll donate all of my Thwack points as well

I've flipped 4 houses since 2012 and plumbing is the one thing I always hire out. It seems to always take me four trips to the store before I get the job done.

I agree, we should gather a user group together and host the first annual 'compliance crawl'

I was suprised housing was as big is it is.

Thanks for the write up Leon and your quotes are great ones!

Thanks for the write up. It's patch weekend again this coming Sunday and my monitoring systems never fully recover on their own - so right before I throw something on the grill I will need to get in and check everything out.

Thanks for the write up.

The surprisingly great idea in Bernie Sanders’s Green New Deal: electric school buses 16 Trillion Dollars / 24 Million kids. > 600,000 per child just to get to/from school. So is the proposal to have 1 bus per child ?

I usually do read up on an item before I make a purchase. Mostly to see what people had to say about it, if there were any issues reported as well as good things they may say about it. Usually there are also reviews on other sources such as forums, youtube etc.. IMO people tend to go back to rate a product more often if…

One of the 'lights out' data centers I worked in had a lightswitch on the left side of the door and this (below) on the right side. I pointed out to the DC Manager that most people being right handed feel around for the switch on that side when entering a dark room. A hinged plastic cover appeared the next day.

Ended up handing this over to one of our late night NOC engineers and he made a very nice display using the API.

Thanks Wendy, I was able to leave a review.

It's not uncommon for some of our sites to have dozens of routers.

I would work from home in a heartbeat if the situation presented itself.

I hope to see this happen in the US at some point in the future. I think companies would be less willing to collect and freely share data if they were held accountable for the data they collected.
