First time I'm seeing this style of macro- is there more documentation somewhere to read up on?
-
Haven't tested but think it's still broken. Crazy workaround- if you are using custom script- have that error to the windows event log then pick that up critical errors as failures on a windows event monitor on the main poller. Not great. Maybe use the script to write an alert note that the action failed- event worse :-(

Oh I long for the day we can add groups of charts to a page much like app Insight does. Or Splunk.
-
Does this require elevated level creds though? I would hate to have SDK available from each system to for say remove or add nodes...

+1 for Infoblox DNS/DHCP support

goff, I am using reports grouped by subnet and parent super net/group/sitecode and placed on a page to provide the functionality you are requesting. If you set the URL for each field properly (including ${ParentID} for Supernet or folder) then it's easy to find what you are looking for and just clicking the subnet to open…

I just started reading up on our Infoblox API... Thanks, Christian

As usual tdanner for the win! when are you going on Jeopardy to upset James Holzhauer?
-
Side note- I always thought that was a Solarwinds module and not vendors issue. How would vendor mix up the enumeration across both snmp and WMI sources? Thanks, Christian

I've resorted to a post Configuration Wizard clean up SQL script. Right now just removes the virtualization tab on the admin menu bar and sets UDT and sql appinsight child status participation to 0.
-
This is still the case in NPM 10.7, UDT 3.0.2 and Core 2014.1.0 Unless I am missing a menu option I still had to do the table update to remove UDT status (in my case UDT monitoring ports that are down status) so it doesn't clutter my maps with tiny red pimples.
-
Cool- but I don't see a standard deviation value in there as it is in the SQL table. That's really the field I need.
-
Used Hubble to dissect an AppStack saved layout and came up with something that works but I don't see why. Now off to try and set a default value and custom display name.
-
hmm - you know what I am doing right now
-
THIS Custom property for their environment then including environment = 'Production' into your alerts. I even setup my resources on say the SQL Server summary page so that production are on the summary page but dev/qa go onto a left tab summary page.

stevenwhunt I think what we need is the ability for the agent manage as node process to see and take into account AWS instance-ID or if VMware maybe UUID. That way if one gets spun down and re-imaged then the new one will still be considered unique and as its an agent the overlapping IP is no issue. In that case I would…

Thanks! I am leaning toward TFVC since it seems most compatible with Visual Studio, MSSQL Server Management Studio, our TFS/Sharepoint and if I can get it to work with my Mac through the command-line client. If I can get the WSDL imported into Visual Studio then I think I'm golden.

Danielle- overall everything looks great. For lab- I meant the SDK and Alert etc lab forums that are still there somewhere. Can only find with a search unless I am missing a menu somewhere?

+1 I think the best way to integrate it into a NOC type of work is to scan all the company subnets, add all the DHCP servers (though maybe with read-only), set the default scan interval to 2-3hours to stay ahead of arp cache time-outs, give the NOC user group read-only access to the parent all all subnets, then add the…

Is there a need for me to make an idea or is this simple enough to add as a feature request?
-
i was unsure of SAM/NPM but have both here- I have added the fabric interconnects using the ucs manager creds and that's working great. except that upon adding the blades for monitoring I am not seeing any links back or hardware health? I would hope to have something more akin to the way vm/hosts present themselves.…

I totally do this but we base our groups off a custom property field so it's as easy as adding to the alert a section for custom property value is "group name"
-
I was pleased to see that ServiceNow event management has all of that logic built in so I only have to worry about alert message delivery to it. Pro is I can also manage the logic in the ServiceNow GUI vs scripts. Con is that ServiceNow event management does not have great rolls or tenancy so it requires an event admin or…
-
We have tested successfully with service now event management and find it includes much of the logic we found missing from other integration methods.
-
I would like to have my integration engineer get familiar with this but I cannot get to even the login portion -I can get the WSDL here but not the connection dialog. https://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx:443/swvm/services/InformationService.wsdl Should I pass this off to them or is there something I might be doing wrong?
-
Thanks -actually I did a table update to make it stick with the existing subnets. But I am wondering if the polling IPAM does is factored into the Polling Engine rates - it's at 69% right now and I want to know if I increase polling times would I see it reflected in this polling engine rate % ?
-
I know those- looking for the super secret off menu function for SQL query. PM me if we need to keep this on the DL
-
Thanks - then I guess I don't need these poller dependencies I was building
-
The issue I am having is that the dependencies only work for single run connections - meaning if I have coreswitch01 and coreswitch02 and an accessswitch01 which is connected to both I believe that coreswitch01 going down will make accessswitch01 unreachable status if it goes down. Meanwhile coreswitch02 was still a valid…

Could you do this today with charts for the Dx vs Xx ports?
