Thanks. I was looking for it in the View.Master file.

Your understanding of the resource is correct. I'm taking a look now, but this looks like a bug. If you haven't already, please open a support ticket and reference this Thwack post. That way you will be notified if there is a fix or workaround. Done.

Just need to know if this is worth opening a ticket for.

Yikes, not at all? I have several thousand subnets spanning over 150,000 IPs. Can it be done using a query on the SQL server itself, instead of through the front-end?
-
LOL...or you could try this: (sorry, I should have searched the content exchange first)

This is from another blog on the forum The parameter after STOP and START need to be enclosed within double quotes (and not the ones Word replaces on you with). 1. Locate the Toolset IP Address Manager database on your Toolset server. Note: The Toolset IP Address Manager database has an .ipdb extension. 2. Copy the Toolset…

I don't doubt the intended usefulness - I had thought that this was a way to 'template' different types of devices. For example, if all your servers should have a specific custom property set, then a device that gets recognized as a 'Server' would have that property set automatically. There was talk of this feature some…

Welcome to Solarwinds Technical Support. It's been this way for the better part of a decade. They put the responsibility on you, the customer, to do more work to get your ticket seen/escalated. However, if you download a free app or give them your email address for anything other than support, you'll get a barrage of…

Is there any possibility that PerfStack will ever fully support custom pollers? It seems that literally any poller I need to view data on in Perfstack is either a table poller or a raw value type poller, neither of which are supported.
-
Unfortunately, the first five properties that it shows just happen to contain nothing useful to show in the popups. I like where this is going, but I don't see why it was never envisioned or even put in the roadmap as a possibility that people would want to customize which custom properties to show in the popups.

Thanks a lot for this report, it's been added to our daily list to check.

SW *should* integrate a 'maintenance' feature into the Alerts, whereby a specified time is entered into the alert so it disables the alert during that time. I know that DeepMetrix's ipMonitor has this feature, and I'm would imagine that WhatsUp Gold has this. Feature request!

I hate to say it, but I have to agree. I've not been able to get it to work reliably at all. I feel that the process to add a custom MIB is very unintuitive and quite cumbersome. The fact that you can only view the poller via the website is kind of a letdown, too. I was thinking that prior to the release, the Custom MIB…

Thanks a lot, I will go ahead and try this. Unfortunately, not sure whether I need to, since I've already made the decision to use Cacti for our customer-facing NMS. Besides the inability to modify stock pages, Solarwinds' account security just sucks and has for years. Did you know that regardless of a user's account…

I suggest you install Wireshark on your Orion server, start monitoring the traffic with it before your poller starts, start the poller, and watch when the pings start flowing. You would be wise to enter a filter before starting Wireshark though, something along the lines of: ip host x.x.x.x and icmp

I think I've actually narrowed my problem down to SSH. It seems that configs retrieved using telnet don't seem to do this. I changed some of my devices to telnet and the problem has gone away. Still a very big problem, as I can't continue to run telnet all the time.
-
I am having the same problem. I found another post in the forums here that said to try changing the number of simultaneous downloads down to 5 instead of the default of 10. I tried this and I'm still having the issue - even after bringing my simultaneous downloads to 3.

Adding a syslog alert to email an administrator or your ticket system seems to me to be the best idea here. You will have to do this on the server itself within Windows, as the syslog server cannot be managed through the web GUI (yet).
-
This is similar to a problem I had with the beta release. It sounds like your database doesn't have all the proper columns/fields in the various Syslog tables. Run through the database portion of the configuration wizard again to see if this resolves the issue.

I've always wanted a way to configure the max scale on the graph. I know that gauges will let you configure a maximum, but not the UnDP graphs. Being able to set this, along with other properties of the graph (like units), would be pretty handy.

Another one: * No ability to import just subnets. It appears that you can only import IP addresses. This is a big hinderance in importing our existing data.
-
That was it exactly. Thanks, I didn't quite know how to structure the statements correctly.
-
If you pay the yearly maintenance, you can submit a ticket with Solarwinds and they can check it out. I have the same problem with a lot of my devices and it was discovered that an update to the node discovery engine needed to be made.

This is handy for those that have Perl installed on their Orion box. You should post this in the 'Tips and Tidbits' forum so it doesn't get lost in the sea of Orion questions. thwack.com/.../75.aspx

Interesting...I've noticed the same problem, but I thought that it was a Windows RPC issue. We have the order correct *and* have the right IP in the Engines table in the DB. If you find an answer, please let me know. The invalid packets are really annoying, as they throw up some errors in the firewall due them being seen…
-
We had a similar problem, but fixed it by going to the Network Connections control panel in Windows 2000 (works in W2K3, too) and clicking the "Advanced" menu option and selecting "Advanced Settings". Move the Primary NIC to the top of the list of NICs. This should ensure that any packets leaving your machine to the…

cryzr3d, Did you ever get a resolution to this? I'm experiencing the same issue. NPM does not alert properly based on negative values.

1. Is there a way to import all currently selected monitored devices from Basic Alerts to Advanced alerts? No, unfortunately. 2. Is there a way in the advanced alert configurations to have a check-box style system to select which interfaces and nodes to monitor? The idea of having to find the corresponding NodeID for each…

Do you have the Netflow module installed?
