Dennis, Please see this link: login as: prompt That will bypass the first prompt. With Variations, you can specify the prompt, such as "Please login". This should allow you to get to the password prompt.
-
You will want to use the Backup Ignore Text section of Variations: SolarWinds CatTools
-
Yes CatTools can back up a Cisco WLC2504. I would recommend making sure you are on the latest version, which is 3.10.0.
-
Usually with an IP or hostname you should be fine. With something such as %DateISO, when the day changes and you are using a maximum log file age, you can get a small file that is a few bytes.
-
Building on what kstone said, if you use log file rotation, we do not recommend using an auto-split values.
-
Richard, The Kiwi web access uses a SQL Compact database, and not the same files created by the console. You can limit the web database size by clicking the Admin tab, and setting the Maximum Database Size:

This could also be a volume issue: SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: How many messages can Kiwi Syslog Daemon handle?
-
What type of device have you added to ipMonitor?
-
Please upload a screenshot of what you are seeing.
-
I would recommend configuring the devices to not send informational syslogs. This traffic can make up 95% of all syslogs. By configuring this at the device level, you also put less traffic on the network.
-
You can try "switch-nsi-03(su)->" for the prompt name.
-
Also, it looks like CatTools is looking for switch-nsi-03(su)-->, but the actual prompt is switch-nsi-03(su)->.
-
You will want to will want to click on the Variations tab, and then the Use Variations button. Click the Prompts tab, and select Paging prompt option, like in this screenshot:
-
Jim, You will need Log Forwarder on each system that you want to forward event logs from. I would recommend installing only on the servers that you need data from.
-
Do you have the Windows firewall enabled?
-
You can enable capture mode (File\Enable capture mode). Don't forget to disable it when you are done. You will want to look in the \CatTools3\debug directory. This will show you verbose communication with your device.
-
Check the box, and leave it blank.
-
Try editing Variations and leave the enter enable mode blank.
-
In your debug, I am seeing: <W-3:10:00 PM>enable <R-3:10:00 PM>enable <W-3:10:00 PM>[13] <R-3:10:00 PM>Invalid input: enable[13][10]HP POE M Building Switch# Is enable the correct command here?
-
In the buffer, we are seeing: exitdo you want to log out (y/n). How do you have Variations configured?
-
On the nodes showing up as ICMP only, try the following: 1. In NTM, click Help\Support Tools\Grab SNMPWALK 2. Enter the IP address of one of your node, and click Scan 3. Save as a text file, and open that file Do you seen SNMP information?
-
There is currently a feature request open to add 2048-bit support.
-
Have you tried using the Device.CLI.Modify Config activity: http://www.kiwisyslog.com/help/cattools/index.html?act_devclimodifycfg.htm
-
kstone is talking about a filter: Kiwi Syslog Server
-
You can use a full SQL database to log to, but the SQL CE database is the only version that the web access can log to.
-
What is the process that you used to migrate?
-
Jack, Please post a screenshot showing your log to file setup.
-
Depending on the device type, you can use Variations, and then click the Backup Ignore Text tab. Here you can specify the text to ignore. Please see this screenshot:
-
What happens if you try to add a 5th group? Do you see any errors?
-
Are you running the licensed version of CatTools? I have added 31 groups in version 3.11.2.
