If you look in the C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\ipMonitor\dbstore directory, do you see a file for the day you want a report from?

Have you tried the built in CPU Utilization report under Device Reports?

You should be more concerned about the priority (Emergency, Alert, etc) than the facility (Kernel, Local1, etc). Your router vendor should be able to give you a good idea of what to be concerned about, as each vendor labels syslogs differently.

If you use Wiresharak on the Kiwi server, are the syslogs actually reaching that system?

Are you connection via telnet or ssh? Is ssh, which type are you using?

Can you enable capture mode (File\Enable capture mode)? Look in the \CatTools3\Debug folder for the capture file. Please remove any sensitive information, and post the contents of the file.

Ron, When a monitor fails, the monitor is seen as down, and the timer starts over once it comes back up.

The Kiwi Syslog web access does not read files that are logged to text. It reads from a SQL Compact database.

Make sure that the Kiwi Syslog service is running under an account that has rights to that share.

Kiwi Syslog server is only a listener, it does not poll devices.

John check the version the ipMonitor file that you are using. Go into the ipMonitor directory, and right click on ipmservice.exe, select Properties, and click on the Details tab. I am wondering if there was an issue during your upgrade.

You will want to do the following: 1. Click Options\Setup 2. Click the Primary SMTP Server Setup tab 3. Uncheck the Use this Server box, and click OK

MIB files are compiled by our development team. Is there a reason that you are needing to translate the OID values?

If you are on the current version, 10.8.2, it would be best to create a new monitor using the new service name, and configure the monitor, as needed. Next you will want to clone the monitor to all of the devices you want to monitor that service on.
