I'd think that they'll still be a key part of IT. Now that many companies think they can be efficient via remote work, the responsibilities of SysAdmins will be expanded- including more monitoring. 

There are several ways you can reduce, reuse, and recycle old technology but one I think would matter the most is providing these to motivate kids in technology in poor countries schools where they can't afford.
