Bumping to get more visibility
-
I am trying to edit my post at https://thwack.solarwinds.com/t5/NPM-Discussions/Upgrading-Orion-Platform-2018-2-to-2019-4/td-p/591855 and when I click edit, the message and action button disappears and there is a big blank space.
-
I think you need to look at the cloud resource summary.
-
Yep and I chose incorrectly. I submitted it before I saw your message. Because the wizard wasn't listed as a form, I didn't think that was the answer.
-
Its still twisting my brain.
-
Has anyone done the Orion Insight yet? I'm gathering the diagnostics from my poller as the version I have installed does not have the diagnostics built into the website. Is everything supposed to be checked in the Diagnostics Tool? I recall years ago SW Support had you uncheck Active Diagnostics.
-
UGH! I missed it because of this. Dang it!!
-
I did the same.
-
For some reason you need a period even though there is a period after the blank spot.
-
Yep, I read it that way too and missed it.
-
Did you ever get information on SQL Server 2014 SP1?
-
Thank you Solarwinds for making the upgrade process much easier in NPM 12, which decreased downtime and made everyone happier.
-
Having a hard time making out what the screenshots show in today's hint. The resolution is very low.

"At the time that I wrote that....there were more than two answers. I've since found out the answers were adjusted and now there are only two correct answers. But C is technically correct. "Single-tenant solutions tend to be more secure since data is separated" This is factually correct statement and I am not sure why it…

BUMP
-
Same... one of the answers wasn't in any of the clues, so I don't know why its an X.
-
knucklebusted If you drill into the features list you may find what you are looking for with ports. EDIT: I got a green check mark using the information on the hint link.
-
Awesome write up on this. I am planning on upgrading our Orion 2018.2 (NPM 12.3) environment on Windows 2016 early next year, so this was a great read. I'm assuming I will need to use the online installer on the Main Poller and APEs as the centralized upgrades was introduced in 2019.2, so it looks like I have one last…

Chicago or Kansas City

I just got it... and almost spit my drink at my screen. Haha, good one!
-
Thanks! I always want to look at screenshots since I've been burned in the past.
-
I'm only seeing one, which is not an answer.
-
Probably Monday 6/7.
-
I can confirm that .net 4.8 works with Orion Platform 2018.2 / NPM 12.3. I installed it last week and our environment is working like it always has. Next up, the upgrade to 2020.2.4!
-
I agree. The answer was badly written. In the past we need to get the answer exact, but this time we don't?
-
If I would have looked at the release notes I would have gotten the answer correct. It is much more useful than the link that is much more vague.
-
I've always wanted this as the various app owners reach out to the SW admins to unmanage instead of being able to do it themselves.
-
These questions are poorly written and the lack of a hint about the functionality being referred to compounds the issue.
-
I'm having a heck of a time finding the answer to Q6 of the SysAdmin track. Am I just not looking close enough at the hint documents?
-
I ran into the same issue. I chose a correct answer, but I apparently picked the 'wrong' correct answer.
