jxchappell Did you truncate the whole InterfaceAvailability_Details table? If so, did you run into any issues in the web interface with any errors relating to truncating the table?

I just ran a test by running a setting WMI as the polling method on a machine that is and isn't working with the SAM check. I am able to get a successful test on the one where it works, while I get a failed test on the one that doesn't. It looks to be pointing towards something with WMI, whether it is a permissions issue…

Any ideas? The vCenter is now saying that the operation has timed out instead of the connection being closed.

I got the report completed and was curious about the SQL that was written so I click the SHOW SQL button. I had a question regarding the WHERE statement. The report is set to show historical data from "yesterday". The SQL behind the scenes is showing: "WHERE ( DateTime BETWEEN 41601 AND 41602 )" I was just curious what the…

The errors occurred before the maintenance period. I'm running them manually now and am getting the same error. Maintenance isn't running. I've even dropped simultaneous downloads/uploads to 5 to try to stop the errors, but they are still occurring.

1) 5.7.1 2) I haven't yet 3) They are being polled by different agents. 4) The one that is reporting correctly is a VMAX20K running 5876.268.174 microcode version. The one that is not is a VMAX40K running 5876.268.174-268 microcode.

It doesn't. It will show which are having problems individually, but not a total. EDIT: I just went back to the "Main Console" screen at the bar is back.

I'm not sure either. According to this chart 6.2.x should be compatible. https://support.solarwinds.com/Success_Center/Network_Performance_Monitor_(NPM)/NPM_product_compatibility_chart

If the transaction is unknown and it has not been unmanaged, does it count as downtime in the WPM reports? I just wanted to get some confirmation on how the downtime in the reports were calculated. We have a few transactions that do not show a red down in the events, but show a 98-99.5% uptime for the day.

I agree. I will be holding off on 12.0.1 and will just be upgrading to 12.0.

STM is separate from NPM and doesn't require a specific NPM version to upgrade STM. Now what the upgrade path to 5.7.2 is, I'm not sure. We went from 5.3.3 to 5.6.2 to 5.7.2.

I'm going to be installing HF6 tomorrow so I was just curious if there were any issues that popped up. Did any other quirks pop up for you ecklerwr1?

What do you consider a huge DB? Ours is about 30GB.

Hey Jay Garcia, Sorry to bump a 2 year old post, but this just happened in my environment. I'm assuming the node sync will not affect any of the nodes that are "Licensed by NCM"? Just wanted to confirm before I clicked the Sync Nodes button. Thanks

No, all the other ones are working as expected. We found out once the site was brought back up and was responding, the check recovered and came back green. Not sure if the timeout on the IIS site is set very high or what.

I will check it out and see how it works. Thanks

Haha, so easy. I was digging around on the server - not in the web front end. Thanks!

Could you share that plan? I think it would be helpful.

The macro ${ProcessName} worked. Thanks! Is there a Process Status macro? I tried ${ProcessStatus} and it just showed up as "${ProcessStatus}" in the email.

I don't think the Alert application is around in 11.5 mdecima

One thing to keep in mind with changing the node status polling to be that quick is that you should only set it on a few servers. If you have all of your nodes polling that quickly your poller will get overloaded.

I noticed on the NCM server that under the Solarwinds Orion folder on the start menu there is a "Configuation Manager" and under the Solarwinds Orion NCM folder there is "Orion NCM Configuration Manager". Would I need to run both of those or just one of them?
-
So according to that document we will have to stop services on main server (NPM, SAM, IPAM, UDT, WPM) as well as NCM on the other server? Would we have to stop Virtualization Manager since it is an appliance...?
-
I forgot to add that we have SAM, WPM, UDT and IPAM on the main server as well.

dsbalcau Is it supported to perform a VMware Snapshot before beginning the upgrade? I quickly read through the upgrade chapter in the administration guide, but didn't see anything specifically about it. I was planning on powering down the appliance VM, running a snapshot, turning it back on and then running the upgrade.

Other than that issue, how did the NPM 10.7 upgrade go? We will probably wait a couple months before we upgrade to it in our environment.
-
We are trying to get an idea on how long we should schedule for the upgrade. These are the versions we have and we will be upgrading to the latest versions. In your experience, how long do you think the upgrades above (NPM/Core, SAM, IPAM, NCM, UDT) will take in total? NPM 10.4.2 => 10.6.1 Orion Core 2012.2.2 => 2013.2.X…
-
Here are my versions. This is our current plan for the upgrade: We will install NPM 10.6 first, then upgrade to SAM 6, IPAM 4, NCM 7.2, NTA 4.0 and UDT 3.0.2. To you guys that have done upgrades: Does that sounds right to you? Any other order you would suggest?

Following this as I have had to redo transactions for small changes like this.

Some of the temperature stats you are looking for should be monitored under Hardware Health and I believe that is included in NPM. The RAID things might have to be done with custom pollers if you do not have the SRM license. Hardware…
