And I figured that to be the case, zhymmer, but I did not want to a$$-u-me. I hold marcoswithanoh and the THWACK Geeks capable of higher standards, however, and that was why I made the comments that I did. Like I said, the OCD kicked in BIG time!

The English also have something else that is, um...:

As we have seen in the past, someone had a severe case of improper caffeination prior to hitting the "Save" button. I'm guessing a reset for everyone is pending so I'm holding off until that is done. Easier than having them take points away from me, IMO...

Is that like Han using a linear measurement as a measurement of time? "It's the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than twelve 'parsecs'."

I had marked it correctly and it stayed marked as correct.

"Never gonna...", Señor Rick!!

Wow, pony10, sorry to hear about the early retirement. No fun, especially if you're not fully prepared. I know what a difference 15 months can make (although with the markets bouncing like beach balls these days, it's tough to say). I wish you the best and hope you enjoy your "third act"!

While taking the final survey, I actually recommended to the THWACK team that if they are wanting people to only stay on one page to get an answer, they print that page to a PDF rather than just posting a link to a brochure site. That way, there is no confusion from folks clicking around on non-germane links.

Thanks, DanielleH! You GEEKS take great care of us GEEKS! Thank you for listening and being willing to embrace CANI (Constant and Never-ending Improvement). You ROCK!!

You just had to do it, jeremymayfield! You just had to go and ask for another EARWORM ALERT!!! "Hey Mickey! You've been around all night and that's a little long You think you've got the right but I think you've got it wrong Why can't you say goodnight so you can take me home, Mickey" Toni Basil "Hey Mickey" Official…

damien.solodow, you didn't, by chance, make a screenshot of the pop-up message, did you? I did not, and my eidetic upgrade is still on backorder, but I thought it talked about why the correct/incorrect answer was correct/incorrect. But, as mentioned, still waiting for my memory upgrade...:-P

Congrats to einsteinqrockefeller, sisentner and all the other winners this month!!

Pages are created after 100 comments, so one more after this one.

The almighty dollar can be a highly effective influencer of perception. Everything is possible in IT...it's simply a matter of how much time and money you are willing to throw at it. Can we get gig-Internet in a business-class circuit? You bet...to the tune of about $1,000 a month or exorbitantly more in my case (5+…

Interesting POV, Rick. So are you saying that "A.I.", as it is being referred to today, is not truly Artificial Intelligence? Can machines (washers, refrigerators, robots, etc.) not be (1) Intelligent without being (2) Self-aware, and (3) Conscious (if you notice, those are the three criteria that were laid out in "Measure…

Rick, I appreciate your wanting to challenge everyone every time, and I'm right with there with you. I do think, however, that the Geeks do well at mixing up the difficulty of questions. After all, this site is really a marketing tool and learning forum, is it not? Albeit with some pretty awesome swag attached! Sure, the…

Great article, jgherbert ! There are two things on which I would like to comment. Thing 1: What about "Harvey Codebanger"? One of the biggest silos in my organization IS DevOps itself. They sit in their ivory towers, festidiously banging out code for 26 hours a day (yep, they've figured out A) how to not sleep and B) how…

Great article, sqlrockstar. I had heard of blockchain but was unaware as to the intricacies of it. Thank you for this. The issue of data integrity being reliant on the integrity of the individuals entering the data is an age-old IT problem. Not to get too philosophical but what would the world be without "dark" and…

How about "Nerd Nest"!?

My thing is music...I have a song playing in my head all day, every day. My wife will occasionally ask me, "So, what's playing now?" She's sweet.. I won't trigger an EARWORM ALERT with this but just a quick lyric from Pilot's "Magic": "Lazy day in bed, music in my head Crazy music playing in the mor-ning light!" That's…

Great minds think alike, Rick...glad to see I'm not the only one. I've been using that nomenclature for filenames since before 19800101 was a thing (speaking of our friend DOS). And yes, using the leading zero/double digit code in the day and month where appropriate is key, but that takes some getting used to as well.…

Didn't know you knew (and apparently work with) Meredith Eaton, there, RT: Must be nice...can I get an autograph? ;-)

"Computer: Calculate to the last digit the value of Pi."

Oh, papaquette, you gol darn gone and dunnit! You prompted an EARWORM ALERT!!!: Classic Tull, here: Jethro Tull - Living in the Past - YouTube But totally agree, 2018 is SOOOOO last year! (Just giving you grief, RT! ;-)

As I am just getting started with my new position, and have not as yet been able to get into the SolarWinds instance to see what they have (and what they do not have), I said "Maybe" because at the moment, I have no input or questions. However, in three to six month's time, I probably will. Thank you to the entire SW team…

This is a fantastic case study, saschg , and I am impressed how SolarWinds rose to the challenge and provided a solution that supported such a massive implementation. My company is nowhere near this level or complexity, but it is nice to know that not only do Orion and NCM have the horsepower to accommodate large-scale…

Beeindruckend! Das meiste habe ich verstanden! Meine zwei Jahre Deutsch an der Uni haben sich ausgezahlt! Danke sehr, saschg!

Congrats to the other new MVPs! Looking forward to helping make THWACK the best it can be...and having it continue to make ME the best I can be! I am honored to have been nominated and selected. And of course, to the veterans: we thank you for all you do for us!
