Grimey, Two things have you tried just using the IP address instead of the dns name and have you verified no firewalls or ACLs are in place to restrict traffic? Regards, Adam

So with package boot you can choose what happens before and what happen after install including removing or moving things. The last instruction listed below would be your option for that. During editing your package for WinZip you could select the check box for package boot and look for the post install actions.…

In that case this policy report allows you to audit and then based on the interface you can tally a inventory of commonalities to create a script in NCM to send the command to proper interfaces based on your Policy report. Does that makes sense. My question is how standard is this helper command across your network based…

I think you sent me another question but it is not showing here. You were referencing the ability to pipe the command ip helper address x.x.x.x. As long as you are in the right config mode which you can put in as part of the remediation. The answer is yes but I would check to see if that is the exact way you enter that…

Anthony, I know you have moved on but my question would be have to checkout out the JMX monitoring in Server and Application monitor? The product has a wizard to help you find JMX objects. We do it looks like the layer 3 and layer 2 oid is not supported for this model.

In combination with a basic email template you could also use the trap tool to send and alert when the firewall blocks any know ports. That would have to be worked on to know what trap would indicate that but that is an option.

Mike and thwacksters, I had the same issue and after many weeks working with support and Devs they finally got a work around look below. DISCLAIMER (I don't know if they have a KB and I do not warrant or assume any risk as this is not an official release or my own, but only that it seemed to work for me. I do not take…

I am curious as to if you are able to verify success where did you verify it. It is possible that t he device-template is not correct. If shows success with credentials that is only the first part of what is required to pull configs. You need to specify the correct template or import on if the auto detect has not selected…

I would concur as well but you could also try to use the nightly inventory job to show that info and run a report against that.

Binojb, Have you checked the fragmentation level of the database indexes. You can check this by opening the databse manager on the Orion Primary App Server. Programs/SolarwindsOrion/Advance Features/Database Manager Once Open click the button that says add default server Right Click on the Database name and select database…

Just as an addition if this is a Switch IE: like 6500 Series the commands might look like this to disable netflow export from specific interfaces. Switch(config-if)#no ip route-cache flow Switch(config)#no ip flow ingress layer2-switched vlan 10,20 Do keep in mind which layer 3 interface you do what flow enabled. The…

Not a bad idea but it never hurts to try the basics first before they ask. The only other questions I would ask is what OS, Hardware, and version of SQL are you running?

Jswan, I am fairly new to Solar winds and Net flow so I was a bit lost. Thanks for this answer as it was very insightful. I have a better understanding once trying that example to what I can really do with the NTA tool. I also got a few training videos on planning and implementation of Net flow on multple platforms and how…

Darragh, Thanks for the demos. This looks like a good way to get a birds eye view of what I was talking about. Our main focus is to get problem resolution down to minutes instead of hours. I am not the body that makes the decisions but I will talk with my colleauges and see what their goals and aspirations are. Thanks…

Hey bud, Long time thanks for the reply. That is basically what I did the other day. I was wondering if I was missing anything. Regards, Adam

Are you trying to exclude the examples you have in the post??

Have you looked to see if an OpenVPN connector is available at the Appliance Level? If not I would look to see what data is showing up by creating a filter in Monitor to look to the event group (Any Event) and then filter on ToolAlias (Unmatched F5 BigIP messages Data). Then look in the event fields. If no connector exists…

Good questions here. Most times a mystery node comes in if a object has multiple communication IPs and the logs come out of different interfaces. My suggestion would be to audit why the email appliance has multiple IPs and if you can customize what port the logs are sent from if these are SYSLOG sources. If is a Windows…

Which version of NTM do you have? The new version allows you to add a do not scan list to your scans to exclude things in future scans. Let me know if you have seen this? It sounds as if you may have but not sure. Regards, -Adam Stephen Loop1 Systems: SolarWinds Training and Professional Services * LinkedIN: Loop1 Systems…

To have the connect now work all the pieces of Layer 2 and Layer 3 info need to be in play. The routers/ Switch as well as the server have to have layer 2 oand or layer 3 info checked in the list resources for the node. You also have to have all the interfaces added that would contain possible connections including vlans…

Roga, AIX is similar to Linux where you need to modify the snmpd.config file to allow things tro be monitored including interfaces, mount points, and other info such as processes. See the thwack post below for a good start on how to get this working.…

Help Desk, If you are referring to adding multiple emails to a email alert most likely you need to separate them with commas. Another way to add multiple emails is to us a Email Distribution list. mphalak, To restrict rights to only a scan based role is not possible depending on what type of scan you are referring to. For a nodes scan salanting is correct that is part of the Node Management and Admin roles. If you are referring to NCM and IPAM you can select the proper role for those and apply it to a AD you add…

Richard, I would say you should look at the matrix chart for product upgrades. My thought would be to up grade to the version before 7.3 as 7.3 is the database migration version. Please review the link here for the full chart of which products are compatible at which version. This document will help you step the install…

Jon, Have you looked into Netpath as that could test the response of DNS 53 from an external source or do you need to know it from the IPSLA perspective? Regards, amstephen87

Have you tried creating a report using the custom table content resource and select that as a column in addition to the other items you need? Let me know if you have questions.
