Is this still not featured yet??? I had been searching for this all these days ... If not, then please feature it, its really required. If yes, then please help me out how to go for it.

Hi aLTeReGo, Seems like the non-numeric value is available in fields/events for setting the alert trigger condition(the screenshot of which you've shared) and in columns variable in the reports. However, the same is not available as a variable in the alert Email notifications. PFB a screenshot taken while selecting a…

I am at SAM 6.6.0 and still it gives the numeral value for the variable 'Operational State'. Has this still not been implemented and using the query the only way to replace the numeral value? aLTeReGo

Hi Steven, We would not always want the status of the application as up, even if there is a problem with any of its components. The one scenario where I think, this feature of custom application roll-up could be useful is to monitor NTP clock drifts. Say, we have a NTP client which syncs with 3 NTP servers. We would only…

Hi #alterego , How do we go about the APE migration once we have migrated the main poller from Windows server 2012 to 2016 using HA method ?

Thanks for confirming that, cobrien, I tried running the commands listed in "What privileges does an account need to monitor Cisco ASA devices? - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support " to check if the admin context gives me the complete set of H/A data. However, unfortunately I could teh desired data from the Admin…

Hi aLTeReGo, While investigating further, I found that the status of a hardware component in same (unhealthy) on the Vcentre API and the ESX API, however its status is healthy in the vecntre and ESX. Thus, seems like Solarwinds is fetching info from ESX API, when polling directly. My doubt is where does the CIM is used…

Thanks a ton aLTeReGo for always answering the queries and helping understand the concept.

cobrien, Can you please advice on the below query : If I login to the ASA and after passing the login credentials, directly enters to its management "admin" context (one of the contexts on the ASA)with the prompt 'admin#' ie. the Enable mode. Is this the fine mode to work with ? Is this how all ASAs are supposed to work?…

Could just see the Connections, but nothing else!

Have already opened 00111136, and has been forwarded to dev team. After struggling with its troubleshooting, just wanted to have the expert opinion, which is why I posted here....

Done that as well, the same as was suggested in the guide.

Sure, thanks !

I've tried removing the enable password days back and it still couldn't poll the data in days. SNMP polling is working just fine. I could poll the same data (HA state, etc) using the OIDs but not with the CLI polling.
-
Hi aLTeReGo, I believe both the methods to poll hardware data use CIM, which puts data to the APIs. So, shouldn't the API used to poll hardware data different for vcenter and direct polling case. Or the API is the same ? If it is the same (suggested by the above shared article) and its the CIM's responsibility to put…
-
Yes, on the node page, I could not find the data being polled. I've tried rediscovering and polling it many times. I've already tried these steps days back, when I started with the ASA monitoring and I am still on the same page.

Thanks mesverrum !

Hi jpetkevich, Do we have any update on this ? What could be the possible reason of not getting to the NCM server? Thanks Amrita

What's the difference in polling through vcenter and directly using ESX root credentials ? The Vmware API had issues when polling through Vcenter & so it was recommended to switch to direct polling. If both the methods use API, at the end, what difference will it make in the two methods? Kindly help understand ! Many…

Hi aLTeReGo, Unfortunately, I Couldn't find anything related to iVIM in the admin guide. Can you please refer again the screenshot in the problem statement, so as to see, why I am not getting options like 'direct ESX polling' ? Thanks !
-
Hi jpetkevich, We are using NCM 7.7, NPM 12.2 on Orion platform 2017.3.5 SP5. Thanks!
-
Yeah, I have tried doing that as well, and it doesn't throws the error anymore. But, unfortunately no luck with this as well, still couldn't poll the desired data.

Hi mesverrum, PFB the screenshot of the graph I'm looking at for packet loss. I'm looking at the packet loss averaged at 5 minutes and the value is 33.33%. Many Thanks!

Thanks a ton aLTeReGo ! The tip to check and test on the "Proxy Settings" really helped. I am sorted with the problem I was having. Can you please also help with the difference in the HTTP and HTTPS Monitor. I think the difference is only with the type of URL to be monitored, if its an https URL then we can use HTTPS…

Thanks aLTeReGo The article you shared is for fixing the Hardware issue when an ESX is polled through VCenter API. However, I am polling the ESX directly and not through Vcenter. Can you please help with the KB for fixing the direct polling, instead. Kind Regards!
-
Hi serena, I believe what you are referring to is what is shown below: However, this is for Windows machine. The concerns and problem question I've posted is specifically for ESX servers. I've still tried adding an ESX host as just a node with SNMP polling, but it didn't worked. Hardware health information is not…

Thanks, mesverrum !

Hi aLTeReGo, PFB the screenshot of the poller, the node is assigned to.

Thanks aLTeReGo, This is not exactly I needed, but these helped add to the vision. For now, I rather need a report stating Node1 has 20 alerts, Node 2 has 30 alerts, Node 3 has 10 alerts, and so on.

Thanks, Do we have an article for the VMAN light edition instructions ? I could see the VMAN under License Details in Orion Web Console. PFB its screenshot. What does this depicts? Is this the light version you are talking about ?
