Creating child maps and dragging them onto the parent map works good. Exactly what I needed - thanks!

I'll give that a shot. Thank you both for your help!

The dll file didn't work for me. I was told you can use the database manager to remove the nodes. You go into the nodes table and remove the node that is listed in there. Its not a fix as to why it happened in the first place but it is a workaround for the problem.

I contacted Solarwinds and was told it is a faulty dll file that is causing the problem. A few other people have called in with similar problems. I should receive the dll file from solarwinds soon and I will post any updates. Thanks.

That makes since. I figured out a work around that will work for me. I originally wanted to modify the vendor name so it would appear correctly on my webpage. I created a custom property named department and I have the devices sorted by department on the webpage. The solarwinds website has a good video tutorial on how to…

I also am getting weird characters. I'd also like to know when you are able to find a resolution. Thanks.

Mine is still doing the same thing. I even applied the latest updates and hotfixes as well as the database wizard. Any other ideas? Thanks.

Sure, sorry about taking so long -- You will need to download Dell's OpenManage Managed Node software package. This is required so the Dell server can send specific SNMP information to Orion. Without this package, you can't find these OIDs. Also, once you install the package, there are several documents that list over…

Brandon, Add another person requesting this feature too, thanks.

It froze up on me a couple times after some work I did. After the second time I decided to save my work every couple of minutes just incase it closed again.
-
Did you select Read/Write? I did. I refreshed the page and the changes showed up for about 10 seconds and then reverted back. I checked the website and the changes were there but reverted back. I tried stopping the SQL server agent as well and trying it but that didn't work either. I might try stopping all Solarwinds…

You need the Dell OpenManage Server Administrator software. It's a free download from Dell's website. It contains the necessary software so you can monitor the server via SNMP. I downloaded it for my three Dell 2950s and I can monitor all types of hardware on the server. Install it on each of your servers you want to…

I'm monitoring CRC errors and all the errors that show up for the Cisco "show interfaces" command such as CRC errors, frame errors, input errors, etc. The way I have mine setup is I have a CRC UnDP poller setup, for example, as a Counter per Hour timeframe and it produces a good chart for me. Next, I'm going to work on…

I have a PIX version 6.3(4) and got SNMP v1 to work also. Here is what I typed to enable it: snmp-server host inside 192.168.1.1 snmp-server community MyCommunity Replace the 192.168.1.1 with the IP address of server that Orion is running on. Replace MyCommunity with an SNMP community that you wish to use. You might have…

Network_Guru, Glad to hear that fixed it! Just curious but, what % utilization did your CPU go down to once you reinstalled the Job Engine? Mine went down to about to 0% to 1% but I'm running the SL100 version.

Right now, I am monitoring the following: * Physical Disk State of each of my 6 SAS disks * Fan speed of each of my cooling fans * Status of each of my cooling fans * Temperature Probe reading All I did was enable Windows SNMP on my Dell 2950 and install the Dell OpenManage Server Administrator Managed Node. It's a free…

I stopped that service and made the change. When I started it back up the database reverted back to the previous. Is there another service that needs to be stopped or another place in teh database besides the Nodes table that I should look? Thanks.

I too have successfully done what r0berth1 mentioned when I upgraded to a current version about a year ago.
-
Will it let you delete the node? I have Windows Server 2003 (not SR2) with Service Pack 2. Did your test box also work before you applied the updates?
-
I had to modify my Node Details view and remove the extra "Tabular Universal Device Poller" entries.
-
Hey borgan, Thanks for the reply. These particular UnDPs I am talking about no longer exist on my system because I deleted them. However, the charts still display on the Node Details page. I am able to do like you said and edit the Web Display settings for my current UnDPs but I can't for these particular ones. Thanks…

How do I link the different maps together? I'm a little confused about how they will work. Thanks for your help!

If you create an Advanced Alert, click the Trigger Actions tab, and click the Add New Action Button, there is an action to "Log the Alert to the NetPerfMon Event Log". By selecting this, I can create events that appear under the "Last 25 Events" section on my Network Summary Home page or under the Events link on the Orion…

I gave that a shot and it gives me exactly what I need. Thanks!

What is the OID you have setup? I am using 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.9.23.1.2.1.1.6 which is cdpCacheDeviceID, and I have a table setup for each CDP Neighbor name. It's one poller but pulls all CDP Neighbors known to the device. I'm sure you have tried that? I can't do a chart for mine because there's really nothing to "chart". It…

The solution worked for me too. Thanks!

Most manufacturer's websites will have information about monitoring hardware through SNMP. You can also call the manufacturer. Google searches is another good tool. I have been able to gather all of my OIDs by Google searches and searches on the manufacturer's webistes. You can also download a trial of the Engineers…

I also experience the same event logs when I restart the SNMP service on my Windows servers.

I have a couple that are showing incorrect vendors: These are both Alvarion DS11 radios. The first one is 1.3.6.1.4.1.710.5.11 and it is a Remote Bridge (RB). The second is 1.3.6.1.4.1.710.5.10 and it is a Base Unit (BU). It is showing up as Lannair Ltd. instead. Another is Deliberant DLB2500 radios…

Also, carrier transitions is OID 1.3.6.1.4.1.9.2.2.1.1.21. It's on the same page.
