hi, i`d like to remove all my previous netflow data from the SQL before we go about installing SP2. Is that an easy procedure to post here or should I contact support ? Cheers
-
Do you think there is a case here for SW, not only improve the support communications but also increase their own software testing before releasing a a product ? I cant` believe something like this, that has impacted so many, slipped through the net.
-
David, Is there anyway we can just get rid of all the data in Netflow and effectively start again ? We don`t use it for anything other then real time checks anyway so history is not important to us. Im happy to wait for 3.0 SP2. Cheers

My service grew to over 1.5gb of RAM and i`m only monitoring 3/4 routers with it. I`ve asked for this on previous posts but didn`t get any response - can Solarwinds provide any detail for a roll back to version 2.2.1 Frankly the new "features" are not worth the performance hit and crippling NPM completely. I`ve had to…

Just to add to this thread, im experiencing the same issues. Running the latest version(s) of all software.
-
Just added my name the list of people who would like to see NBAR in Solarwinds in some form...no brainer I would have thought.
-
Did this feature ever get released ? Surely this is being worked on for Nexus/ASA/ACE etc.....
-
Which means we have the pain of contacting SW`s everytime to get a new key and then deal with the licensing issues for all the different modules that come with it....not pratical for everyone. A better idea would be to give regisitered customers a single user license to play with that doesn`t expiry....then we can actually…

Thanks forr the info..I`m interested in the shaping aspects of it, sounds like it will do what we need. We currently run 3.1 I`m assuming we`ll need to goto NPM9.5 before we can upgrade ?
-
Denny, How do we go about testing the upgrades on a test server without having to buy additional licenses ?
-
Do we have any ETA`s for the patch to fix this issue...having already logged a call over a month ago ? Cheers
-
Please ignore the above post - it HAS fixed both problems - the traffic being displayed correctly and the errors in the event log. Thanks
-
Does anyone know if this issue was fixed ? Im attempting a roll out of a new banner and it takes 8 minutes for it to execute for some reason for one device - if you multply that bty a few hundred it quickly becomes apparent that Cirrus is not really fit for purpose and a manual roll out would be quicker !!
-
Hi OK fair enough, I can wait for the SP release assuming its not going to be to long before release. Cheers
-
hi, Can you tell me what version of NTA supports this ? Thanks
-
Great news...I assume you mean v3.0 ?
-
I have ran that query but it hasn`t made any difference im afraid ( after restarting the netflow service ), i generated some new traffic but its still not being displayed. Do we have any idea of when the fix`s will be available ? I`d rather wait for a patch then start to mess around with the DB too much.

Are you talking about NCM's "Scheduled Tasks" function? yes - the abillity to schedule configuration changes / backups etc Can you explain what will not fit you enterprise standard shortly. I`m not a Windows expert but I believe they have a "Group Policy" which prevents the use of it applied. I appreciate this is probably…

The wireless stuff looks interesting and so does the energywise ( when it ships for our kit ) but I must agree TACAS support on a enterprise product sure is a must ?
-
Anyone had any joy with this ?
-
Thanks for all the info however im really looking for an answer in regards to uninstalling v3. The 2hr default view is a killer for us as we only retain 15 minutes uncompressed so makes using netflow painfully slow. Until that value can be changed its of no use to us, v3 doesn`t seem to have fixed any of the previous…
-
Sorry i`ve not made clear the problem we are having : Any flows which contain a TCP port manually defined in the NTA configuration are saying "no data to display", All other traffic is working and being displayed as expected.
-
Apoloagies if this has already been mentioned but is their any plan to move away from Scheduled Tasks for job creation ? This feature is being disabled as a enterprise standard shortly.
-
Can you provide any detail on the kit your using to terminate the L2 ? If its a 4/6xxx Cisco switch you may be able to do some manual monitoring with it but you`d get more value if your running it on a router.
-
Thanks Haley - i think thats enough for us to use the software.
-
excuse my lack of understanding in SNMPv3 world but why can`t you add the loopback ?
-
is there a way to group a number of ports together to be listed as one application ? ( i.e voice etc ) Cheers
-
Sorry, ive now got an issue with licensing ( apparently ) The log says : 17/01/2008 08:42A license check failed. Evaluation time expired 17/01/2008 08:39A license check failed. Evaluation time expired 16/01/2008 19:31A license check failed. Evaluation time expired 16/01/2008 19:21A license check failed. Evaluation time…

I think this relates to software versions as this application I was interested was previously monitored in NTA no problem. The error in the event logs is not down to configuration either and has only appeared after an update...cheers anyway.
