  • There is a config option - it appears as though I can only enable it for one interface at a time. My config has one physical interface hosting numerous VLANs, so I tried enabling it first for the physical interface that hosts the VLANs, and then for a single logical VLAN interface. Either way, using v5, I would end up with…
  • Yes, I can confirm that your solution works - in both IE and Firefox.
  • Thanks Andy, the templates from devices seems to be causing me issues lately (could not get NTA to accept NetFlow data from a pfSense router). So, is there a reason NTA would accept these sFlow packets from this switch and the RealTime tool wouldn't?
  • K. Thanks for your help. I do know a guy that is a bit of an SQL guru - I will bug him when he gets back from holidays. Thanks again. Aaron
  • Update - all of this helped a great deal. Thanks to everyone!! I ended up making the Alert table changes manually - I only have 18 Alerts configured right now and they were quick and easy to change with MSSQL Management Studio. Somehow I think Solarwinds needs to put together a more detailed tutorial on doing this kind of…
  • Really? I found 2 bugs in 3 weeks? haha And no prize? ;-) Thanks Andy. I will wait for support to contact me and update here.
  • Son of a...!!! Don't suppose you can post shots of the custom poller config?
  • I finally figured this out - after doing a couple more SNMP walks and reading through each and every OID along the way. haha Should have done that in the first place. Here is what I found from RFC1628 - UPS MIB. upsOutput OBJECT IDENTIFIER ::= { upsObjects 4 } upsOutputSource OBJECT-TYPE SYNTAX INTEGER { other(1), none(2),…
  • Cool. I will work on that tomorrow. Thanks.
  • Just got my first reply to the case - apparently this is a known bug and it still under investigation. I expect we will see a hotfix soon?
  • Awesome. Thanks for the help.
  • Advanced from a Custom Node Poller.
  • Yes, I think having custom refresh times for each modules would be great. While it's nice having quick refreshes for things like NPM, other modules do not need to be refreshed as often - like NCM and NTA. While we do have the ability to set NTA times differently, doing it via a file edit is a pain.
  • AAH HA HA HA!! What an idiot. Sorry, I didn't even look at the enable part, only the time setting. Sorry, I have changed it to enable=true and I am betting it will work fine. Thanks again ET!!!
  • No worries. This is a great start. Thanks again for your help!!!
  • I have a very similar application - in my case I am monitoring input voltage of our UPSes, so I am using a Custom Node Poller, but I am still getting my value as a Rate. Howerever, when triggering for my Alerts I look at that Rate a little diiferently. See screenshot. Triggers fine every time. Aaron
  • Hi Marie, from the Notes of the KB: When SolarWinds states that a device is supported by Orion NTA,SolarWinds has determined that at least one of the templates the deviceis capable of exporting will satisfy the Orion NTA requirements. I've looked and can't find the list. All I can find is the list of Multi-Vendor Support…
  • In my case, my variables are translated properly only when the Alert is actually triggered on it's own. My issue is when I try to test them using the Test application - then I get screwy/random results.
  • In my mind I picture kind of a top-down, ladder style logic. The first line says to trigger when ALL of the following apply. First check the status - at this point I would think "the status of what?" If it picks a random register it may or may not match - at this point it would stop checking because not ALL conditions…
  • I can confirm that I can not recall having the issue in the last few weeks since upgrading to 9.1 and then adding SP2. :-D I will keep an eye out, but I really don't recall seeing the problem lately (where it used to be hit-and-miss on page refreshes whether or not the map images would show up).
  • Alright, I finally got this working. I think. As I showed in the screenshots 4 posts up, the OID for the input voltage returns a table of 2 values - even when I chose to Get Next. However, mostly all of Orion displays the second value from that table - the correct input voltage. It is only when I tried to run the SQl query…
  • JB, I made my poller look almost like yours - I just has to change the type to Raw and the format to Text (other than the OID and name). The queries give me values for voltage and frequency, but I still get the text for the capacity. I still have some weird stuff going on. For my voltage I get what appears to be an old…
  • Hi Casey, to start with, the value is set to Yes on the Web display page, all boxes unchecked - no change. When I hit Edit on the resource it only allows me change the title/subtitle of the resource, and it gives me an option to hide the resource if the Node does not have any pollers associated with it. Right now I am…
  • In Services I see the following SQL related items:
  • Hi Andy, sorry for the confusion, the sFlow data I collect from my Extreme switches is fine, other than being able to collect egress traffic only. The issue I am having is setting up the FreeBSD-based pfSense routers to send properly formatted NetFlow data. Aaron
  • Ran the installer again - or, more specifically, ran a repair via Add Remove Programs since the installer wouldn't let me run it again. No change. I will wait for Support to contact me. Thanks for the ideas, I at least have more info to give them. Much appreciated.
  • Blackberry support would be GREAT!!!
  • That worked perfectly. I will play around more with the grouping and such this weekend. The report is one of the default ones (Total Bytes Transferred - Last 7 Days) that I started modifying. Thanks again. Aaron
  • Yah, single socket board. I think I can go from the Xeon 3070 (dual core, 2.66 GHz, 4 MB cache) to the Xeon X3210 (quad core, 2.13 GHz, 2x4 MB cache), but I'm not sure it would help much (low cost from Dell, might be worht trying). Thanks again, Yann.
  • You bet the name has changed - the old (existing server) is called Baker and the new one is called Baker2. Couldn't have two machines with the same name on the same network. I will try this later today. It makes sense though - when I first started NetPerfMon.exe on the new server the window cam up asking which polling…
