I had to alter your script slight since "x86" and "AMD64" aren't numbers, but it does appear to be working properly in SAM 6.1.1. I would recommend upgrading as it appears this may have been an issue in SAM 6.0.1.

Yes. That is the service I was referring too.

I've personally configured an 11 node SQL cluster with AppInsight for SQL without issue. That doesn't mean it will work for everyone under all circumstances, as I don't believe anyone who writes software could make such a claim. I will say that if you do encounter delays in polling that an Additional Polling Engine would…

One of the two KB articles listed below may resolve the issue. * SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: A SAM Template Status Shows Initial Poll in Progress * SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Add Node Application Struck with Error during Polling :"Initial Poll in Progress"

bmrad can clarify if needed, but I don't believe EOC passes your credentials you used to authenticate to EOC to then connect to to Orion. You must use Windows Integrated pass-through authentication or enter your credentials manually for that session into the forms based authentication.

The KB article at the link below outlines the steps required for granting adequate permissions to a non-administrative user for the purpose of remote monitoring with SAM. SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: How to create a non-administrator user for APM polling.

While you can't 'Disable' the IIS Event Log Monitor, you can configure it in such a way that accomplishes the same end result simply by changing the 'Event ID:' setting from "Find All IDs" to "Match only specific IDs" and set a numeric value which could never exist. E.G. 99999999

Sounds like you may have a problem with your performance counters on that server. I would recommend opening a command prompt on your exchange server and running "lodctr /R". This should rebuild your performance counters. You'll want to wait about 10 min to see if that resolves the issue in AppInsight for Exchange. What…

What modules do you own and how many "things" are being monitored by the Orion server? What is your polling completion rate? What does your polling engine details look like?

Have you tried playing with the data type that it's collecting it as? This is what determines what type of data display options you have. I'm still at a loss as to understand how you could, or why you would try to represent a textual value <noBatteryNeedsReplacing / batteryNeedsReplacing> or numerical value <1 / 2> as a…

I believe the link below is what you were looking for. The link cjfranca provides was for the Custom HTML resource rather than SAM's HTTP Monitor. http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/en/flarehelp/SAM/default.htm#orionapmphcomponenttypeshttp.htm

Have you tried using the Universal Device Poller in NPM? It fully supports tables so selecting individual OID should not be required.

For VMware ESXi 5.x, you need to use the OEM version of VMware ESXi (the HP version) which includes the CIM providers (in the HP ESXi Offline Bundle for VMware ESXi): The HP VMware ESXi 4.0 The HP VMware ESXi 5.0 If you downloaded ESXi 5.x from VMware, you need to manually install the OEM CIM Providers from HP (in the HP…

This looks like a great Universal Device Poller to share on in the UnDP Content Sharing Zone here on Thwack.

If this worked agentlessly prior to using the agent then this likely has something to do with the configuration of the SMTP server. Mcafee Antivirus has been known to block SMTP, but you stated you've check that already. I would probably go one step further myself and remove it altogether just to completely eliminate it…

Seems you're not alone. * windows 2008 DFSR performance counters are not available * Blogs - The Storage Team at Microsoft - File Cabinet Blog - Site Home - TechNet Blogs * Cannot access DFS Replication performance counters

I would recommend enabling debugging on the application template then waiting for a failure and running the SolarWinds Diagnostics <Start -> Programs -> Solarwinds Orion -> Documentation and Support -> Orion Diagnostics). This will collect the necessary log files into a single archive. Then open a case with support…

Thanks chris.jones. I have flagged this case for an AE to pick up. They should be contacting you shortly.

Under VMware Settings you should see how the ESX host is being polled and change it if necessary. Below you can see two of my nodes are polled through a vCenter and one is polled directly. If you're already polling through the vCenter then I would recommend looking at the hardware tab in vCenter for this node to determine…

We are aware of only one (possibly two) other cases where this has been reported. We are unable to replicate it internally and have no understanding of why or how these performance counters go missing from the SQL server. We have been working jointly with one customer and Microsoft to determine why these performance…

byrona, WMI is not used as the polling method for AppInsight for SQL. It's used only as one of the discovery/detection methods for determining that MSSQL is installed and is a supported version. All data is collected by AppInsight for SQL is done directly using the SQL protocol itself. I would recommend launching SQL…

Since these traps are showing unknown in Nagios this question might be better suited for the Nagios forum.

You will likely need to create new, or edit an existing Trap Template using the SNMP Trap Editor included in the Engineers Toolset.

There is no way to know definitively that the fixes included in SAM 6.0.1, SAM 6.1, or SAM 6.1.1 will resolve your issue without looking through your diagnostics, which will require you to open a case with support. Here you will find the SAM 6.1 Release Notes. Previous versions release note history can be walked backwards…

Those templates should work with SAM v5.5 or later.

Alex Slv. Please post your case number when you get a chance. We haven't seen this issue reported before for Windows Scheduled Tasks. We'd like to look through your Diagnostics so we can determine what's going on.

I was also able to set RW on my s8720's Would you mind sharing how you setup SNMP on your S8720? I have multiple S8700's that I'm trying to get into Orion for the Voice guys but they don't know SNMP and I don't know the phone PBX. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
