The issue is specific to the node being monitored via the Agent. If you were to have that other NPM instance monitor that same machine using the Agent, you would see the exact same thing you are now. The issue has to do with how that machine is returning volume indexes to the Agent. This is a known issue that is resolved…

For security reasons we cannot use anything less than SNMPv3. I went through all the tools and found that several do not support SNMPv3. Here is the list: Network Sonar SNMP Sweep Subnet List Advanced CPU Load CPU Gauge Router CPU Load SNMP Real Time Graph Proxy Ping MIB Viewer MIB Walk Update System MIB Remote TCP Session…

mdriskell, thanks for the screenshot. That clarifies things significantly. What you're looking at is in-product guidance of which port numbers PowerShell uses. This guidance is not specific to this template, which as previously stated requires PowerShell v2. This text is specific to the Windows PowerShell Component Monitor…

To do the inverse of an inclusion (exclusion) you would need to use the "None" operator which is the equivalent of "not" in the Advanced Alert Manager. See the example below of how this alert would be written to exclude nodes that start with "UPS".

Ahh I see the issue now. The problem is that the Last "XX" Component Events is filtered based on the specific type of event (component monitor), and the component ID being viewed. This cannot be replicated by events written through the Advanced Alert Manager. My recommendation above did not assume you would be using the…

This is still occurring after upgrading to 2020.2?
-
I've logged this internally as a feature request under FB162261.

The SNMP Daemon included with Windows Server 2003 fully supports the HOST-RESOURCES-MIB.

We do have a new template for Windows Server 2008 R2 domain controllers that can be downloaded through the Thwack Content Exchange here. Keep in mind, this update is for 2008 R2 Domain Controllers only

NCM installed on an Additional Poller that is protected by FoE is fully supported. It does however require a special license that must be obtained through support. If you own both an FoE Additional Poller, as well as NCM, please contact support to obtain a special license that will allow NCM to be installed on the FoE…

Another suggestion I would make would be to try something simple like http://www.google.com and verify that's working without issue.
-
It should operate on a real-only domain controller without issue. If you would like to try it out yourself I encourage you to participate in the beta.

SAM's HTTP/HTTPS User Experience Monitors don't support JavaScript. As such, you would need to define the full/absolute URL you wish to monitor as javascript redirects will not be respected. If the website or web application you are trying to monitor is reliant upon JavaScript to verify it's fully functioning, then I…

This is resolved in SAM 6.3 (currently in beta) but a temporary fix is available to those experiencing this issue when you open a case with support and reference case SAM-1195.

There are multiple "UniqueID"s in the XML. Please ensure you're updating the one at the bottom of the XML document. I've tested the import, export, change, import on my own system following the steps above without issue using the template you provided. Is the template that you uploaded one that throws the error or one that…

Excellent! I'm glad you were able to get it working.

On the IIS Server, MMC can be used to view the expired Certificate: * Click Run, then type 'MMC'. * Go to File > Add/Remove Snap-in. * Select Certificates then click Add. * Select the Computer Account option. * In the left-hand pane, expand Certificates > Personal > Certificates. The certificate which Orion created can be…

Can you post a screenshot of the error you're receiving?

When the agent is deployed it intelligently determines which communication method (server initiated (passive) or agent initiated (active) will work based upon open ports, NAT, etc.. It's likely the agents you deployed that are using passive mode were either configured that way manually upon installation, or were…

If the template is working but you're still receiving invalid login attempts in the event viewer of the monitored server I would recommend opening a case with support so we can better track down the cause of the issue.
-
Thanks for sharing Marlbs. I'm certain this information will help many a user save countless hours troubleshooting the issue as you did.

What is the status of those switches in Orion when the parent goes "down"? If their status is "Unreachable" then the problem is likely with your alert configuration. If the status of the child objects is "Down" when the parent goes "Down" then the issue is with the dependency configuration.
-
If the alert itself has been disabled in the Advanced Alert Manager yet you continue to receive alerts, then something is terribly wrong. Please open a case with support so we can dig into this issue. Responses will undoubtedly be more timely, which should translate into the issue being resolved faster.
-
That is correct.

I gave this a shot but it didn't produce the results that I think cmccarter was looking for. I have 24 interfaces on one of my routers, but Mark's recommendation only shows the node's managed/monitored IP address that is defined in System Manager. The other 23 interface IP addresses are absent from the list.

It sounds like you have a large number of hung jobs. Without looking through your diagnostics it's difficult to say for sure what those jobs are. I would recommend opening a case with support so we can look through your logs to determine what is causing these jobs to hang. It may be related to backups, loss of connectivity…

From what you're describing it sounds like you're missing the SolarWinds Administration Service. If you're not yet running the latest hotfix I would recommend installing it. That should repair your installation.
-
Yes, please open a ticket with support. It's obviously reproducible in your environment and shouldn't be occurring.

For VMware polling you will need to add your ESX/ESXi host as ICMP nodes at a minimum. If you've managed to configure SNMP on them, then you can certainly add them as SNMP nodes instead. It has the benefit of providing volume usage information. Also, if you own NPM you can also monitor the physical network interfaces in…
