There are lots of different ways to monitor the status of an application. Monitoring if the process is running is one of the most basic ways and that's fairly straightforward to do in APM using the "Find Processes, Services and Performance Counters wizard under APM Settings. Another simple way is to utilize port monitors.…

How are you trying to view/edit this setting? Is it though the assigned application or the template itself? I would recommend editing the assigned application itself and leaving the template as-is. If that still doesn't work for you, please upgrade to SAM 6.1.1 as this contains several fixes that may be applicable to your…

What message is returned when you click the 'Configure Server' Button?

Last try. It may be that the MAC Address on one or more of your network interfaces falls within the MAC address range reserved by VMware. Out of curiosity, what are the MAC Addresses of the network interfaces in this host?
-
You will likely need to disable Asset Inventory on those nodes and re-enable it before it will begin collecting this information. If that does not work, please open a case with support so we can troubleshoot the cause of the issue.

Those counters should certainly exist. I would suggest using Perfmon.exe on that host to determine if they have a custom instance name defined that might need to be populated in the component monitor. However, you can always delete any component monitors from the template or assigned application that you don't want/need.…

That is correct. The Real-Time Process Explorer (which powers this feature) supports both Windows and NET-SNMP Linux/Unix servers.

Is the node being monitored across a WAN or similarly latent connection?

In theory, after upgrading to SAM 6.3 and NPM 12 the other modules should inherit the necessary changes required to support TLS 1.2, but since I have not tested each module myself I cannot confirm that at this time. The reason why TLS is not supported is that Orion is written using the .NET Framework 4.0, which does not…

eagolli and Marlbs, this is a known issue in SAM 5.0.x and has been logged as a bug under FB107943. Even better news is that we believe we have resolved this issue in the SAM 5.2 beta. If both or either of you are willing to sign up and participate in the SAM 5.2 beta to validate this issue is fixed in your environment…

If you've run the "lodctr /r" command on the monitored host and that did not resolve then issue then It's likely that any additional rebuilding of the performance counters will not work. At leas that's been my experience and your mileage my vary. Have you tried following the steps outlined in my posting at the link below?

@"pratikmehta003" wrote:@"aLTeReGo" getting this error: and how abt the other query i asked earlier for VIP showing under Agent settings page... From the error in the screenshot, it appears as though the Agent port 17778 is not open, or that those services are not running on that server. Could that server IP address be the…

Nope. You keep the same template. Simply disable or Delete the "SW Web Console - UE" component monitor in the template. Then add a new component monitor by clicking "Add Component Monitor" Then select the HTTPS Monitor to add it to the application template.

OK - sending some help your way. Terrific! I'm standing by to receive Do you have a ticket # on this? Um, nope. Would you like me to open one?

I would agree with pstranak. This appears to be a permissions related issue with the account being used. I would recommend following the steps outlined in the KB article below to ensure all required permissions are granted to the account you are using to monitor your SQL server. * SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: AppInsight…

I climbed the mountain and spoke with the wise developers on high and they immediately recognized the problem. It's a bit difficult to explain, but essentially it's a known bug that is addressed in SAM 6.2 (currently in beta). This is nothing to be concerned about. The Jobs Queued value is not accurate and should be…

Can you take a screenshot of the output of the script as run from a PowerShell prompt outside of SAM? Your output variables suggest multiple values, though how those are formatted will determine if they can be read. As with any other script based monitoring solution, the script output must be properly structured so the…

For this you would simply monitor the volume and leverage the out-of-the-box alert "Alert me when the free space of a volume is less than 5%" pictured below.

My apologies Manilyn Ramos I will reach out the tech immediately. In the meantime, I can tell you that I believe ryan.davis26 issue has since been resolved. If I recall correctly, the issue was with RabbitMQ and was resolved by re-running the Configuration Wizard. Have you given that a try to see if it resolves the issue?
-
Certainly! I will state that the typical reason why this might occur is if the main Orion server, Additional Poller, and/or the Additional Web Server time is out of sync or in a different timezone. So I recommend double checking this just to be sure.
-
ryan.davis26, would you please open a support case for this issue and post your case number here? I will see that it gets escalated to the appropriate individual.

Can you post a screenshot of the Trigger Condition and the Email Trigger Action defined for this alert?

There are several ways to see which applications are monitored by SAM. The first, and most obvious is the "All Applications" resource on the "Applications" summary view. Another way is through "Manage Templates" under [Settings -> SAM Settings]. Yet another way is through Reports in the Report Writer. You'll also find an…

cdowning, please open a case with support. The counter is not automatically removed for upgrades, only for new installs. This is because we didn't want to take anything away from the majority of customers this is working for. However, now that you've upgraded our support can assist you with removing that component.

Do any of the components in this template work? How is the node managed in Orion? SNMP or WMI?
-
It sounds as though WinRM has not been configured on the remote node. Ensure that PowerShell 2.0 is installed/enabled on that host and that WinRM has been configured. 1. On the Orion SAM server, open a command prompt as an Administrator. To do this, perform the following step: · Go to the Start menu and right-click cmd.exe…

My recommendation would be to use the Orion Agent.

That is currently not possible to do within the same chart today. You would instead, need to break each summed series out into their own distinct chart.
