A MIB file is nothing more than a translation between the numeric OIDs and their sudo-english names. MIBs are not required for collecting information from SNMP. It can and does make it easier to understand what is being monitored when initially setting things up, but once you know the numeric OID that's all that's required…

In most cases the following default pre-configured out-of-the-box alerts should suit most scenarios. At most you may need to configure the email send to address and SMTP server settings for those alert actions. * Alert me when a component goes down * Alert me when a component goes into warning or critical state

I'm not sure if you're using the new updated SQL Templates but they include expert knowledge that describes what what the acceptable thresholds are for these counters. For example the Full Scan/Sec reads: This counter monitors the number of full scans on base tables or indexes. Values greater than 1 or 2 indicate that we…

Trap data is correlated to the node managed in Orion and can be shown on the "Last XX Trap Messages" and "Traps Summary" resources on the Node Details view. Traps cannot however be parsed to populate other data fields in Orion such as CPU utilization or other performance data that is polled.
-
The alert is for a component type that is not a process or service monitor, so there is no CPU or Memory information to include within the email. That is why these values are blank.

Most Cisco switches such as the 3750 only display temp OK or not ok. This is true for the CLI as well as SNMP. 3750#sh env temp TEMPERATURE is OK

Unfortunately the error you're receiving is fairly generic and simply means that the value returned from the query is a non-integer value. The cause or reason for this is unknown from the error itself. We would need you to enable debugging on the application template and inspect the diagnostics for a more comprehensive…

Most organizations use NET-SNMP for their HP-UX systems which should function without issue with Orion's CPU, Memory, Volume monitoring. The following thread discusses this in further detail. net-SNMP setup for HP-UX

Is your polling engine and database server separate and connected by this frame relay link?
-
Can you elaborate? I'm not sure I completely understand your question.
-
Is this for web server certificates?
-
Can you provide any specifics about how the transaction differs from being played back using the recorder vs when it's assigned to a player? Occasionally there are browser differences that might cause issues. I would recommend if you're having trouble to create the recording on the same server where the player is…

Have you tried using Web Performance Monitor instead? SAM's Form Login Monitor supports only simple forms based authentication. WPM however allows for complex multi-step web transaction monitoring.
-
This is likely a task better suited for Patch Manager which is capable of reporting upon driver versions installed etc. Some of that information is made available via SNMP and WMI once the hardware vendors management agent is installed, so it may just be a simple matter of creating the appropriate WMI or SNMP monitor to…

What type of device and what sensor type are you attempting to disable the monitoring of? Also, how is the node polled?
-
Agreed. It's always the last resource to load, and It just so happens to be the resource I look at the most.

The native File Existence Monitor in SAM uses WMI so it only functions with Windows hosts. You can however use the following template instead for Linux/Unix systems. UNIX File Existence Monitor

This is not possible today, but it sounds like a pretty cool idea. I suggest creating this as a feature request so the rest of the community can show their support.

Have you considered simply using the Process Monitor in SAM and configuring the Advanced Alert Manager to notify you when more than one instance of this process is running?

Dell has extremely strict and incredibly complex requirements on when and how often warranty information can be polled for a given host. Without going into specific details, the "how often" is related to how soon the server is due to expire. Without understanding all the ins and outs of how warranty status polling works,…

Each member will need to reside in a different subnet.

Starting in Windows 2012, the Distributed Transaction Coordinator is no longer an automatic service. If this service is not critical to your machines operation then you can safely disable this component in the SAM application.
-
Have you tried running Perfmon.exe from the Orion server itself, connecting to the remote host and seeing if those Windows Performance Counters are available? Trying it locally is helpful, but I have seen many instances where the performance counters appeared locally but not remotely.

Essentially for each alert you can define a number of different Trigger Actions to occur. Sending an email as you referenced above. If you're receiving email for this alert and it's not defined as part of the trigger condition then it's likely either coming from another similarly configured alert in the Advanced Alert…

I'm not a WebSphere expert myself but the links below may be of some help. Someone from the community may be better suited to answer your question. failing that I would recommend contacting IBM. http://stackoverflow.com/questions/357095/how-do-you-enable-jmx-in-websphere…

The Apache template requires that the Server-Status module, AKA mod_status is enabled and configured on the Apache web server to function properly. You will also need adequate permissions for the script to run properly. Ensure you're using a root level account. The Active Directory failures are likely the result of user…

Dynamic groups and dependencies were added as part of the APM 4.0.2 release

This is outlined in the following KB article. * SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: How to create a non-administrator user for SAM polling.

Within the default out-of-the-box "Alert me when a component goes into warning or critical state" simply delete the Trigger Condition "Component Availability is equal to Warning", then save your changes. This alert will then only trigger for critical conditions.

I'm monitoring my APC PDU outlets. What APC models are you trying to monitor?
