A Wireshark capture will include timing information from the initial request to the final offer. This number should be fairly close to the value shown by SAM"s DHCP User Experience Monitor.

Properly updating the IP address for dynamic external node types is a bug we are tracking internally under CORE-341. If the port you are monitoring is a Web Server or similar web service, you could use Web Performance Monitor, as WPM is not impacted by this defect. Similarly, if you have IPSLA capable Cisco devices in your…

The APMServiceControl.exe should be working provided the "Property to monitor" defined in the alert Trigger Condition is defined as "APM: Component Monitor" in the Advanced Alert Manager. The APMServiceControl.exe is dependent upon the ${ComponentId} being passed as a variable so APM knows precisely which service on what…

Are these three servers in the same DAG? You will find "Users By Mailbox Size", "Users By % Mailbox Quota Used", and "Users By Messages Sent" resource on the application details view, which provides a higher level perspective than than the same resources located on mailbox database details view of each individual mailbox…

Can you try changing the Fetching Method for this service from WMI to RPC and see if this resolves or changes the error you are seeing?
-
This isn't possible with anything built into Orion but you could do this using an IIS log file analyzer and report writer like WebTrends or AWStats.
-
Currently the only way to accomplish this with SAM would be to create an application template for each database, or add each of these component monitors into a single large template for monitoring all your databases. I'll contact you offline to discuss your requirements further and bounce a couple of ideas we're thinking…

Active Directory is a fickle princess when it comes to monitoring, as it probably should be. The normal permissions of windows don't necessarily apply to domain controllers in the same way they do for member servers. They are far more rigid, because as you can imagine Microsoft doesn't intend for your Domain Controller to…

This problem can typically be resolved by changing the Hop Count to "0" in the Discovery Settings.

Currently there's no way to include the instance name as part of an alert. Your options are limited to including the instance name as part of the application or the template name. This is the easiest way since it's one location. The other method is as you described, updating the component names with the specified instance.

There are a few Universal Device Pollers for NPM available at the links below. If you don't own NPM it may be possible to manually convert these OIDs to use SAM's SNMP Monitor instead. * Eaton Poweware Universal Device Poller * 1.3.6.1.4.1 - IANA-registered Private Enterprises (find a registered OID) * MGE\Eaton UPS UnDP's
-
Creating such a report as the one you describe would only be possible using Advanced SQL. It is not currently possible to add multiple UnDP's to a single table of a report in Orion, using either the legacy report writer, or the new web based report writer.

The HTTP User Experience Monitor in SAM does not support 3rd party plugins like Adobe Flash or Acrobat Reader. It's very possible that only a real web browser will work in this case; and for that I would recommend giving Web Performance Monitor a try.

If you test this component, does it still return the number "2"? This should work as you're expecting it to. I'm at a loss to explain why it is still returning "2" as the value.

Ensure that the NET-SNMP daemon is running and that it's bound to all interfaces, and not just the loopback. By default NET-SNMP only binds to the loopback interface. For more information on installing and configuring NET-SNMP on HP-UX please see the following Thread.

Server & Application Monitor includes User Experience Monitors for the services you listed and more. These are synthetic operations.

How is the Agent managed? Are you using "Active" Agent Initiated Mode, or "Passive" Server Initiated Mode? Is the host you are trying to monitor behind a NAT?
-
It sounds like you may have assigned AppInsight for SQL manually to the node. If that's the case, please remove the application(s) and enable AppInsight for SQL for the node using "List Resources"
-
When you download the MSI there is an accompanying MST file that must be used if you want the installation of the Agent to include the configuration settings.

Open task manager and find out what process is consuming the highest processor percentage. When you narrowed it down to the process post back here and we'll be able to give you some direction.

Deltona, thanks for the post. We're looking into this to see if we can reproduce this internally. Do you know if you or anyone else may have been accessing the Orion web interface on this server when you tried to install SEUM?

You may be encountering an issue where queries are unable to complete due to session and memory limits. Therefore the queries are never able to execute successfully through to completion. That's just a theory. * SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: AppInsight for Exchange: Excessive number of PowerShell sessions and incomplete or…

Welcome to my hell. Our varying models of Liebert UPSs, with numerous different network management cards, and different versions of firmware had me pulling my hair out trying to find what OIDs were supported by which UPSs. I had to upgrade the firmware on a few of the management cards to get support for the OIDs that I…

Have you verified the command line options for the process via the Real-Time Process Explorer?
-
I'm not 100% sure how Microsoft handles representing this information for multiple cores but APM/SAM simply collects this counter information as-is with no manipulation and stores its values in the database no differently than it does for any other Windows Performance Counter. Below is an example from my workstation…

Probably the simplest, most straightforward method of accomplishing this that doesn't require you to build tons of various different Alerts based on each individual group would be to create a custom property which defines the email address to send the notifications to. You can create the custom properties using the Custom…

The ability to monitor highly available Exchange 2010/2013 Database Availability Groups (DAG) is natively included as part of AppInsight for Exchange, which is available in the SAM 6.1 release, currently in beta.

Yes, this can be accomplished using any of the following User Experience Monitors. * POP3 User Experience Monitor * IMAP4 User Experience Monitor * Exchange Web Services User Experience Monitor * MAPI User Experience Monitor

I'm confused. What does MySQL have to do with Microsoft SQL?

Without more details (or more screenshots) it's hard to say for sure. It sounds like you're monitoring the SMTP for badmail objects. If that IIS counter you're monitoring simply counts up indefinitely until the service is restarted (which can be see from the historical statistic charts for that component) then you will…
