Upgrade to APM 4.0.2. There were some issues with Windows Performance Counters in APM 4.0.1 that were resolved in APM 4.02 that are likely the cause of your issue.

At this time the only macros supported by the HTTP/HTTPS User Experience Monitors are the ones listed below. Passing usernames and passwords through the URL is not secure even with HTTPS, and would not be recommended best practice for continuous monitoring. * ${Node.SysName} * ${Node.Caption} * ${Node.DNS} * ${Node.ID}

Using the Custom Object Resource.

We have not seen any customers report hardware health monitoring suddenly/unexpectedly becoming un-selected/checked. Is it at all possible that this wasn't enabled on this node or that someone else in your organization could have disabled it? Another possibility is that the node was removed and then re-added without…

Network Interfaces information is queried via WMI under the root/CIMv2 namespace. Using a tool such as WMIExplorer you should be able to successfully run a query against that namespace remotely as that user, such as the one outlined below. select * from Win32_NetworkAdapter

The SAM Admin Role is a separate permission that must be set on the individual user or group account as pictured below.

There are some improvements to the Advanced Alert Manager that are on the horizon which may allow you to alert on these conditions when they occur. The problem appears to be that for some reason Orion was unable to write those messages to the database for some period of time and possibly gave up trying. I've seen this more…

Using SAM as an MSP (Managed Services Provider) is actually fairly common. Typically the Orion server and SQL database reside either at the MSP's office or in the cloud (Amazon EC2 or Azure VM). Agents are then commonly deployed to servers monitored at each of the client locations. Those are usually the first major steps.

This error is returned to us by the operating system for the specific tasks last execution. It should mirror what you see in the Task Scheduler's "Last Run Result" field for that task on the server being monitored.
-
SAM's Linux/Unix and Nagios script monitors utilize SSH-Auto for all SSH connections, supporting both SSHv1 and SSHv2. If FIPS mode is enabled on the Orion server then only SSHv2 is used. As for the existence of the "/tmp" directory, this is where SAM copies the script before its executed. Ensure that the directory exists…

How does this number differ from what you expect? The application health overview resource displays all applications SAM has been configured to monitor in your environment.

hstahl, please open a case with support regarding this issue and reference this Thwack thread.

Are you using archive mailboxes by chance?

Absolutely! Each SQL instance (and even database) can have its own unique thresholds in AppInsight for SQL. When viewing the Application Details of the SQL instance you wish to modify the threshold for, simply click the "Edit Application Monitor" link in the top right. From there you will be taken to the application editor…

I believe this error means you've exceeded the number of component monitors you're currently licensed for. To check this go to "Settings -> APM Settings -> APM License Summary". The "Total Number of Component Monitors" should not exceed the number of "Licensed Component Monitors".

Have you tried utilizing the capacity forecasting capabilities of the product by modifying the "Alert me when CPU has less than 60 days of capacity left" to suit your needs?
-
While SAM does provide several different File and Directory monitors, these cannot be used to compare two different directories to validate consistency. This may be something however, that someone in the Script Lab might be able to assist you in creating.

Your problem is most likely the database not the web server. I'm sure the web server is serving pages as quickly as it is receiving the information from the database. If I am correct, and your bottleneck is the database server, as it is almost always is, make sure you have your database on a separate server then your…

How long ago did you make this change to the database names?

When you install the Orion evaluation select the express option. This will install SQL Express as part of the installation process. This should ease the installation process.

What kind of component monitor/s does the template comprise? Perhaps a screenshot of the application details view would help answer that question.

Fa0/3 appears to be a L2 interface, not a L3 interface. L2 interfaces do not have IP addresses. That is why it is 'unknown'.

I believe the following KB articles are applicable to your question. * SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: How do I configure the ${NodeDetailsURL} variable to provide https URLs? * SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: URL redirection is not working in the web console

There should be no behavioral changes for the Active Alerts resources from NPM v11 and SAM 6.1 vs NPM 11.5 and SAM 6.2. If you are still running RC1 I would strongly recommend upgrading to the final GA build to see if that resolves the issue. If by chance it does not, please open a case with support so we can determine the…

Javamelody uses plugins that must be installed on the Java Application Server itself , whereas SAM collects this information agentlessly. It may come down to personal preference or a desire to have everything centrally managed within the single pane of glass, using a single report writer and alert manager. If JMX isn't an…

I'd also be interested to hear from others in the community who are using Ashay OBS and how you're using Orion to monitor it. newminted0 it seems there is a similar feature requests going on in the Ahsay forum below * Ahsay Knowledge Base & Discussion Forum • View topic - SNMP Trap Alerting * Ahsay Knowledge Base &…

This is not currently possible today. You can however post this as a feature request which will allow other members of the Thwack community to also vote on this idea.

Is it possible that one or both APE's is not allowed to connect to the main poller over TCP Port 17777? Similarly, the main Orion server must also be able to connect to all APEs directly over TCP Port 17777.

SAM actually collects the Average Disk Transfers/Sec for volumes monitored via WMI. The recommended thresholds for this counter is .04.
