We're currently working on something for the next release that should make these scripts unnecessary. Feel free to PM me for more details.

Do you own any Additional Polling Engines?

Any word on Orion Beta 8? Have other people received information yet?
-
If you're using WMI then you could use the Windows Service Monitor instead of the Process Monitor. If for some reason you're reliant upon the process for monitoring, you can add the command line parameters of the process to the "Command Line Filter" field to differentiate between each instance of a process.

Are both the internal and external ports accessible from the SAM server? It sounds like you're trying to monitor external ports that are NAT'ed through your firewall from your internal SAM server. Is that correct?
-
ZibaK, where exactly are you looking? What is the text field without links you are referring to? Can you post a screenshot? The links below should hopefully get you started with using the new SOAP monitor included in SAM 6.1. * Configuring the SOAP Monitor * SOAP Component Monitor * SOAP Monitor

The Orion compatability upgrade matrix is available at the link below. Unfortunetly, is mistaken. SAM compatability begins at 10.2.2. SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Compatibility of SolarWinds Orion Products for Installation and Upgrade

Are you able to connect from the Orion server using jconsole.exe using those credentials? If you are unable to get JMX working you may want to try using SNMP instead using the Java Application Server monitoring via SNMP template.

The SQL Server database transaction logs are only committed to the database after a successful backup of the database. Your log file is so large because that file represents all the changes to the database since the last successful backup.
-
When was the last time you successfully backed up this database?

In scenarios such as these it may be best to use a TCP Port Monitor instead, or utilize the application template below. * HTTP/S Block Check

I believe the following document is what you are looking for. http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/Orion/docs/SolarWindsPortRequirements.pdf

There are various different search mechanisms throughout Orion. Many of which can be added to a view.

For those in the community who don't know what SQL Parallel Data Warehouse (PDW) is, more information can be found at the link below. * Parallel Data Warehouse | Microsoft SQL Server 2012

Currently the HTTP User Experience Monitor does not retry after a failure. Only after the next scheduled poll does is the component retried. This behavior is changed in SAM 6.2 (currently in beta) by changing the settings inside 'c:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\APM\SolarWinds.APM.Probes.dll.config' file as…

What version of SAM are you currently running? A very similar issue to the one you describe was fixed in the SAM 6.1.1 Service Release. If you haven't upgraded yet I would encourage you to do so. If that for some reason does not resolve the issue, please open a case with support so we can have a look through your…

Is there any relevant information in the Solarwinds section of the eventviewer?

You should create two different monitors, disabling the "Follow Redirects" option. The fist HTTP Component monitor would point to the internal URL with no proxy setting defined. The second HTTP Component Monitor would point at the external site that's required to go through the proxy server.

Deltona, if this is something you do regularly, then you may want to consider purchasing lab licenses. These are available through Sales at a significantly reduced rate. There is also no requirement that lab licenses match your production license size, though they cannot be larger. For example, if you own an NPM SLX, you…

There should not be anything additional you need to do. When did these new mailbox databases get added? There's a nightly inventory task that is performed by AppInsight for Exchange that if these databases were added less than 24 hours ago could explain why you're not seeing them in SAM yet.
-
Are there any firewalls or IPS systems between the Orion NPM server and the SMTP server? They may not like the ICMP payload and could be dropping the packet. Under "Settings -> Polling Settings -> Network -> ICMP Data" you can modify the ICMP payload.

From the screenshot, it looks as though this is the same device with different IPs, or different devices with the same hostname. With that said, you're likely running into Network Sonar's deduplication capability. The following KB article walks you through how to disable deduplication for discovery. * Disable Duplicate…

I wonder if your problems could be at all related to this thread. I know its not the exact same problem, but the "wacky poller syndrome" after installing 8.1 HF4 doesn't seem so uncommon. Just a thought.

Woodsy_ca, thanks for sharing these with the community!

Have you tried including the domain name as part of the username? E.G. domain\username?

One option available to you would be to write a PowerShell script to use your remote windows server as a jump host. The remote PowerShell script would execute on the remote Windows server and test against the Unix host. Unfortunately I don't believe anyone has shared such a script in the content exchange zone but it is…

Absolutely! Below are just a few examples. * NPM 12.3 Release Notes * What’s New in NetFlow Traffic Analyzer 3.8 * Network Configuration Manager 7.9 Release Notes * SRM 6.7.1 Release Notes

As objects are deleted from Orion they are not automatically removed from Network Atlas maps. This is the same behavior for Nodes, Interfaces, Applications, Component Monitor, etc. This has been the behavior of Network Atlas since it's original inception. As for the 900 objects marked for deletion, is this in the database…

You might want to post it to the SAM Ideas section of Thwack located here ->

Is this a new installation or an upgrade? For new installs there is no 'rollback' to old charts as the new charts are used by default. If this was…
