Response Time is a measurement of time from the initial request to when the response is received. Not all component monitors support response time measurements. Response time is typically only available for user experience monitors, not script monitors. As for the tremendous delay in polling, I've only ever seen this issue…

Yes you can script NET-SNMP any way you want to achieve exactly what you are looking to do. If I had some spare time I'd write them for you but I'm sure with enough online reading you'll figure it out. Here is an example. IP address of the remote device = 192.168.1.16 SNMP Write Community = private snmpset -v 2c -c private…

Groups are universal and not product specific. The only way to ensure they are truly separate is to install SAM on a different server than NPM using a separate database. Another option to consider is using Custom Properties in place of groups.
-
This is something we'll consider for a future release. What solution are you using today to manage your code signing certificates? Also, I encourage others in the Thwack community to chime in here as well if you're trying to solve a similar challenge as gatherworks.
-
I'm just curious how you are doing this manually with NPM. You can always fire off NET-SNMP and do an SNMP-SET to bring interfaces up and/or down as an alert trigger. http://net-snmp.sourceforge.net/
-
Can you provide any specific examples to what it is you are referring?
-
It is not possible the change "what" is being polled, but you can add your own custom properties, or build your own pollers to collect additional information above and beyond what is gathered for you out-of-the-box.
-
Yes, this can be done using the Advanced Alert Manager as pictured below.

SAM 5.0 fully supports the monitoring of the blades within the chassis but does not as yet support monitoring of the chassis itself. This is something we're considering for a future release. This feature request is currently being tracked as FB107659. If you're willing to post some MIB walks from the chassis using this…

We took our old Airespace LAN Controllers out of service a couple of years ago and replaced them with WiSM modules. We still have a fairly large number of AP1010 devices still in the field but are currently undergoing a project to replace them with Aironet 1131 devices. We started the project with around 100 AP1000 and…

You need to add the "Universal Device Poller Status" resource to the "View" under "Manage Views" in the admin section of the web interface.
-
What kind of connections does this application require to "wake up"? If it's a web based application that runs on IIS then it's likely the worker processes are going to sleep and the web cache is expiring. A Web Performance Monitor transaction would ensure that doesn't occur.

Have you tried using the following templates? * Windows File Share Availability * NFS File Share Availability

Are you using the following application templates? * Windows Server 2003-2012 Services and Counters * Linux CPU Monitoring Perl * Linux Disk Monitoring Perl * Linux Memory Monitoring Perl

Orion Platform Hotfix 3 was released yesterday to address the ephemeral port exhaustion issue which is likely the cause of the issue you are experiencing.
-
The simplest and most elegant way would likely be to use the Windows Event Log Monitor and trigger an alert whenever a failover message is written to the even log.
-
At this time it is not possible to filter individual hardware components from being monitored. If you can suppress this condition on the server so it's not reported to SAM as an issue that would be your only option.
-
The report writer is preventing you for adding data that is not related to each other. Out of curiosity, what information are you trying to include as part of the same report?
-
How is this node managed in Orion? Is this a WMI or SNMP node?
-
Are you needing assistance creating the view, or is the "TopXX Volumes by Disk Space Used" on the "Top 10" view not showing you what you're looking for?
-
The only thing that comes to mind is a report created in the Report Writer that is contained within an iFrame of a custom HTML resource.

Today you can place transactions on your maps with Network Atlas, though you cannot place individual steps as objects on a map. Depending on the kind of transaction it may be possible to break the steps into separate transactions and handle it that way. It's not ideal but it may work for some types of transactions. We'll…

Please install the SAM 6.1.1 Service Release that can be downloaded from your Customer Portal and let me know if that resolves your issue.
-
This information can be easily reported on when Asset Inventory is enabled. Simply add the "Hardware Agent" column to a node based report.
-
This is possible and actually not too difficult to setup either. You'll first need to create a new Node Details view that contains just the resources you want these users to have access to. I would recommend copying the existing Node Details view and removing any resources from that copy you don't want them to see. Once…

Did the Configuration Wizard complete without error? If you have any additional pollers or additional web servers in your environment, ensure these have also been upgraded with SAM 6.0.
-
I'm monitoring 27 interfaces....but they're BIG interfaces ;)
-
I believe what you're looking for is the Multiple Object Chart Resource, not the Custom Object Resource.
-
This can be done today using the Custom Table Resource no differently than you would within a report. There's also some amazing things people are doing with the Custom SQL Resource to build their own Orion resources.
-
Orion cannot monitor shares, only volumes such as disks and memory via SNMP. Hopefully this will be something they consider for the Network Services Monitoring Add-on they are currently working on.
