The following document should contain all the information needed to complete the migration successfully. http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/Orion/docs/MovingYourOrionNPMDatabase.pdf

wbaltzell, can you please clarify? Your post seems out of context, so it may be part of a different thread?

Please ensure you are using the latest version of this template. There were some threshold related changes and configuration alterations that have been fixed since the template was included with SAM. * Orion Server

We'll need to look at a SNMP MIB walk from this device using this tool to determine what's going on. You can either attach the MIB walk to a posting here or open a case with support and attach the MIB walk to the case.
-
Absolutely! This is the purpose of the 'Default Menu Bar and Views' section for user or group accounts. To create new/additional views, this can be done under [Settings -> Manage Views].
-
This can occur when the threshold operator is "Less Than".

Have you ensured that the the IP of the SMTP server used in the alert is 127.0.0.1? In the settings for the SMTP server in IIS have you validated that the SMTP server is bound to [All Unassigned] interfaces, that Access Control Authentication is defined as "Anonymous", Connection Control is "set for "only the list below…

Have you tied using the custom object resource? This should allow you to add linear and radial gauges to the node details page. There are no multi-component statistic gauges for the summary view but you can add individual radial or linear gauges for application statistics to any summary page.

Yes, it's possible to monitor the IIS application pools but there is no out-of-the-box application templates for this because they're specific to each named instance. You will need to create your own application template using the "Find Processes, Services, and Performance Counters" under SAM Settings which will list the…

byrona, multi-value script support was added as part of the APM 4.2 release. Multiple values are now supported as part of any Unix/Linux/Nagios/PowerShell or vbscript.
-
Please see screencap. We need the VERY IMPORTANT variables URL and Search String added into the Component Details screen. There's currently no way to do this today, but it is being tracked internally as FB93705

UCS monitoring is a function of NPM not SAM. I'll ask to have this thread moved to the NPM forum where you'll find people more familiar with the UCS monitoring feature.

If the requirements in the template stated that you needed to install the Exchange Management tools on the Orion server than you're using an old version of this application template. My recommendation would be to delete this template entirely from your Orion server and download the latest version available here on Thwack…

I think what you're looking for is the Unmanage Scheduler which will allow you to automatically schedule unmanaging devices on a reoccurring basis. It's available for download from your customer portal and is included already in Orion NPM 10.1.
-
We have many customers using our new Synthetic End User Monitor to accomplish this very task. I encourage you to check it out.

The default email address can be configured under [Settings -> Configure Default Send Email Action]

AppInsight applications should not be manually assigned to nodes like traditional application templates. This method only exists to allow users the ability to forcibly apply them to nodes should discovery not work for some reason. Enabling an AppInsight application is really no different than selecting a volume or…

You may have better luck posting this request to the Report Lab forum. The two reports listed below should give you a great starting point, as they provide examples of reporting on application settings that have been overridden. * APM Component Monitors Whose Credentials are not Inherited from the Original Template *…

Adding the Windows 2000 host as a node managed via WMI in Orion is probably the simplest, most straightforward method for monitoring disk volumes on a Windows 2000 host. Another option is to enable SNMP on your Windows 2000 machines. Once enabled, add the node to Orion as an SNMP managed node, provide the SNMP community…

SAM can monitor any of the Exchange queues, such as the Submission Queue, Mailbox Delivery Queue, Remote Delivery Queue, Poison Message Queue, or the Unreachable Queue. To add any of these metrics simply walk through the Component Monitor Wizard as shown below.
-
There are only 7 Network Atlas Tooltip Macros available with SAM. They can be found in the Administrators Guide here -> http://www.solarwinds.com/NetPerfMon/SolarWinds/OrionNetworkAtlasAGApplicationVariables.htm
-
To see these disk volume specific metrics the node must be managed via WMI, not SNMP. Once you switch the polling method over from SNMP to WMI you should see these resources on the Volume Details view for that server.
-
Volumes do not currently have overrides for global thresholds. The value you are overriding is specific to capacity planning. What you are looking for us currently a feature request that can be voted on here >

lhorstma, let me start by apologizing for the difficulties you've been experiencing since your upgrade to APM 4.2. I can tell you that an inadvertent change (I.E. Bug) was introduced in APM 4.2 related to how we handle error states for the Windows Event Log monitor. This has since been corrected in the forthcoming SP1 for…

To stop monitoring a web site in AppInsight for IIS, simply click the "Unmanage" button on the Website Details view as pictured below. Alternatively if the site truly isn't in use you can remove/delete it from within the IIS Manager itself, which will automatically remove it from AppInsight for IIS.

The following alert trigger condition would alert you if any of the "C:\" drives in your environment had less than 5% space available.

It sounds like you're doing everything right as-is. The only thing you'll want ensure is that your groups include granular items, and are not solely based on node groupings if you want the group status to accurately reflect the status of sub-components. For example, if you're monitoring SQL server running on server name…

The issue is likely a limitation of Windows. It's not possible to connect to a remote Windows machine in a different domain where there's no trust if NTLM authentication is not allowed (E.G. Kerberos only). For situations like these your only recourse is to deploy an Agent to that endpoint.
-
The long request wait time will appear in your IIS logs with the IP address of the user's machine. You can then use UDT to track that back to the specific user if the IP address alone is insufficient. Alternatively, if you are using Windows Integrated Authentication with Orion, the Windows username of the user associated…

Have you tried comparing the Add Remove Programs from each member? I've only seen what you describe once before, and the caused was an MSI that did not install properly for some reason. If you re-run the installer again on the secondary server, what does it do?
