SAM 6.2 (currently in beta) provides the ability to disable the SQL Agent Job info component monitor in AppInsight for SQL.
-
The ability to disable SQL agent jobs in AppInsight for SQL is a feature request we're currently tracking internally under FB342956. To your main point however, all status icons are reflective of the current state of anything it is monitoring. Adjustment of thresholds or other configuration changes and alterations many…

There's a couple different ways of going about this but first the VBScript you mentioned, what would that connect to via telnet and where would it be run from? Would this be a telnet/VBscript run from your central office run against your clients Orion servers, or would this be a telnet/VBscript run on the customers APM…
-
I would recommend opening a case with support. We'll need a look at your diagnostics to determine the cause of the issue.

SAM's Expert Knowledge has recently been made more accessible by being added to the component monitor details page. This allows non-Admins access to view Expert Knowledge in from a convenient location should an issue occur. If you're an existing APM/SAM customer under active maintenance you can sign-up here to participate…

Recently SolarWinds has done a great job of putting together documentation for many of the application monitors that they have published such as Exchange and Active Directory. Unfortunately this documentation is buried away in such a way that many people may never find it or forget to use it. APM's "expert knowledge" is…

I'd also be interested to see a report like that.

The Linux Agent itself is exceptionally lightweight. Unless the server had only 100MB of memory, I can't imagine a scenario where the memory consumed by the agent would come anywhere close to what you're seeing. I suspect that there may be something environmental occurring, but I'd like to find out what it may be. Can you…

Once dismissed, the notification bar will reappear automatically the next time a notification is raised by the system.
-
Reports can be filtered only to "Servers" using the "isServer" property type as shown below.
-
AMP 3.x has been out for a while now. Did that resolve your problem? Is this still an open issue?
-
Also not all CatOS features are supported under IOS at this time.
-
This was an oversight in the development of the new scripting UI introduced in APM 4.2. I've filed an internal bug FB88965 so we can track it and get this resolved. We apologize for any inconvenience this has caused.

If your question is can you display reports as resources in the Orion web console, the answer is yes. It's no different than adding any other resource to a view. Simply select "Report from Orion Report Writer" and click Submit. You can then click the "edit" button on this newly added resource to select which report you'd…

The alert "name" does not support the use of macros.
-
Those errors are typically related to a poorly performant machine. You may want to check your system resources and ensure that they meet the minimum system requirements.
-
Agreed. I have many Cat6000 switches and it's hard to not only update descriptions for the 100+ interfaces on the Cat6000, but to do it again for Orion is a major pain in the ass. When, if ever, can we expect to see interface description populated from a CatOS box in Orion?
-
You can build a dependency between the blade center and the individual blades under [Settings -> Manage Dependencies]. This will be reflected in the "All Dependencies" resource on the Node Details view. This will provide root cause analysis and alert suppression once configured.
-
The user must be logged into the system likely because the application must be run in a foreground desktop session, rather than as a background service. In that case it's best to monitor the application processes itself, since they will only be running when the user is logged into the system and the application is running.…
-
The Multiple Object Chart will allow you to do this, as the example below for Active SQL sessions across 14 SQL servers shows.
-
This sounds like the very use case Groups were designed to address.
-
This is not a native function of the Alert Manager today, but we are tracking this request internally under CORE-11348.
-
Why not use the "logging source-interface" command and the "snmp-server trap-source" to manually determine which IP address the syslog and snmp trap messages are coming from?
-
Unfortunately there currently is no retry mechanism in APM for the Linux/Unix/Nagios script component monitors.
-
The Orion SDK works for adding and removing nodes from SAM but will not allow you to assign and remove applications from nodes until 5.2 is released.
-
Yes. This is configured through the SNMP Trap Receiver application located under [Start -> SolarWinds Orion -> Trap Viewer]
-
You could use the following template * Windows Share Monitor

My understanding of Xenobridge is that it's not a database, but rather a database migration tool used by IBM Global Services; if for instance you wanted to migrate from HP Oracle9i to AIX Oracle 10g.

There is an "Additional Web Server" option for SolarWinds. Talk to sales. It lists for about $500.00 per web server.
