DirtySouth, could you open a case with support and provide diagnostics so we can investigate this further? Please post the ticket number here so we can track it. Thanks.

Have you tried the following Application Template? * Variable File Age.apm-template

How were you able to solve the duplicate index numbers on the flow data which returns the following error? It seems softflowd sends the same interface index ID number for both in and out interfaces, which as one might imagine confuses NTA. NetFlow Data Export Not Enabled NTA is receiving NetFlow traffic from a wrong…

It sounds like you're having the same or similar issue as reported in this thread -> If you're seeing the exact same symptoms then let's consolidate threads. This will help us to identify the issue faster and update those effected more efficiently.

Currently the APM SNMP Monitor only supports numerical statistic values. Support for string values would be a feature request that we're currently tracking as FB89035. The Universal Device Poller in NPM already supports string values, but these can not be shown as component monitors within an application template. If you…

You will need to download the SAM 6.2.2 Additional Poller from your Customer Portal.

Are you seeing this behavior on one particular host or for all hosts?

The "All Applications" resource can be easily grouped by Department by clicking "Edit" in the top right of the resource and selecting "Node Department" as one of the items to group the nodes by. The "Department" field for each node can be populated using the Custom Property Editor located under [Settings - Manage Custom…

The next release of APM which is currently in beta will allow you to define a custom DNS query like www.microsoft.com and alert based on an invalid response.

What version of NCM are you running?

How is the node managed in Orion? Is this an SNMP or WMI managed node? SNMP in Windows is a bit fickle, in that anything that extends the capabilities of Windows SNMP daemon prior to SNMP being installed/enabled must be uninstalled and then re-installed AFTER SNMP is enabled on the server to properly it's properly…

Historical screenshots are not stored in the database to limit and reduce database size. Only screenshots of step failures are stored historically in the database.

This is a known limitation within the AppStack environment view and related resources. We are tracking this feature enhancement internally under case UIM-1356.

I believe you are looking for the "Alert Escalation" tab in the Advanced Alert Manager

lcsw2013 wrote: 1. We want to setup SSO. Since we are federal and use id cards we need to know how we can incorporate that system into solarwinds so we can use our cards to login. SAML is something we looked at but support said that there wasn't anyway for solarwinds to integrate or it was supported? I'm not convinced that…

This is a known issue related specifically to passive agent mode (tracked internally under FB403838) and is slated to be addressed in a forthcoming Service Release.

I almost forgot. If you don't own APM, and don't plan to purchase it, there's another option. If you install SNMP Informant on your terminal servers you can retrieve the information you're looking for via SNMP using the custom MIB poller. You won't be able to get away with the free version of SNMP Informant but $50.00 a…

The following videos should help get you started with enabling and configuring SNMP. * Configuration SNMP and WMI Windows Server 2008 R2 - YouTube * NET-SNMP installation and configuration on Linux - YouTube

1) I have Solarwinds server our of domain, is it a good practice? This is a very common configuration for many SolarWinds customers and is fully supported. 2) If so, and I can keep it like that, how can I enable AD integration from Web Console. I tried to do the config from Web Console, and tried to add users, and I cannot…

There's no OID for Windows to return the number of connected TS clients connection. This is only available with the higher end license of Citrix (Enterprise I believe) You should be able to do this in the future when the release the next version of Application Performance Monitor which should include a generic WMI monitor.

This change should be made to the host(s) being monitored that exhibit this behavior.

You could do this by setting up IP address groups for your locations and reporting on the netflow data that way.

There are multiple views available in the web console ranging from summary views, update details views, WSUS Node Details views, and even endpoint (workstation) details views. All views are customizable. New custom views can also be created, and even used for online reporting purposes.

You're well on the right track. You should not need to configure your alerts again, as all that information is stored in the database. If you're using the same database as the previous instance of SAM then everything you were monitoring, any customizations you had made, as well as alerts will follow the database. The only…

Is it possible that Proxy settings were hardcoded into your configuration prior to us exposing this configuration through the Orion web interface? E.G. C:\Program Files (x86)\SolarWinds\Orion\SolarWinds.Orion.Core.BusinessLayer.dll.config <add key="proxyAvailable" value="false" /> <add key="userName" value="" /> <add…

The default view is always to show everything unfiltered. You can create you own custom views, save them and reference them as needed. You can bookmark your saved layouts in your browser, you can make them menu bar items. You can even add the AppStack resource to a new or existing Summary View, filter it anyway you wish…

For anyone who's interested I've created a Universal Device Poller for the ASA to monitor VPN sessions using the information above. It's available in the content exchange at the link below. Enjoy.
