Summoning thegreateebzies as he may be able to help explain why you are having difficulties accessing the NPM Beta Thwack forum.
-
Application templates can only be used with Server & Application Monitor (SAM) <formerly APM>. SAM and NPM are designed to be installed and run together on the same server sharing the same database, but can optionally also be run separately.
-
Can I safely assume you own NPM under the SWID you linked your Thwack ID to, and that your maintenance hasn't expired?
-
You will need to link your Thwack account to your Customer Portal ID. This allows us to limit access to the beta forum to those individuals which own the product and are under active maintenance.
-
solarview, if you haven't been checking out the NPM beta forum, you're really missing out.
-
Microsoft dictates EoL based upon Service Pack and does not dictate separate end-of-life schedules based on editions.
-
The 'Map Name Format' options shown above in jblankjblank's post above will only appear when editing a map resource that is placed on a Group Details view.

Preparing For Your Next Orion Upgrade - Deprecation & Other Things You Need To Know
-
ecklerwr1, the most accurate answer I can provide is 'it depends'. Everything has its limits. You cannot for example upgrade directly from Windows 3.1 to Windows 10. In most cases though, you do not need to be on the previously latest release to upgrade to the newest version.
-
Indeed, that would be the idea.

Are you collecting topology from your devices? When you perform a 'List Resources' on your network devices, is topology listed as an option? Are you monitoring devices on both sides of the connection for Topology?
-
In NPM 12.0 & SAM 6.3 we expended a considerable amount of effort significantly reducing the time it takes to upgrade Additional Polling Engines and Additional Web Servers, while simultaneously simplifying the entire process. Hopefully those of you with larger Orion deployments have already reaped some of those benefits.…

As stated in the original post above, SolarWinds is actively working on a Disaster Recovery solution for Orion. Our new High Availability offering is orders of magnitude easier to setup, manage, and maintain than FoE ever was. It is our intention to bring this same level of unexpected simplicity to WAN based failover…

Have you verified the Power Control Unit resource has been added to the view? It's possible that you'reusing a custom Node Details view that did not get this resource added to it upon upgrade.

Temperature units of measurement for UPS monitoring are controlled through user settings under 'Power Control Unit Settings'.

It's important to note that Groups can also be added to Network Atlas and appear as a similar 'dot' to what you're seeing in our next generation maps.

Each server has its own DNS record (most likely), and this remains fully intact and unchanged. The Virtual Hostname is shared between both members in the pool but points only to the IP address of the 'Active' member. When a failover occurs that virtual hostname DNS entry is updated to point to the IP address of the…

This information is stored as JSON in the 'Cortex_Documents' table of the database. The best way to query this information is through SWQL as 'Cortex.Orion.PowerControlUnit'.

In the latest SAM 5.5 beta we've added Hardware Health Monitoring support for the Dell M1000e and HP BladeSystem Chassis. If you'd like to participate in the latest SAM beta you can sign-up here to download to give it a try.

The data doesn't match the UnDP or that the native UPS polling is in an 'unknown' state like jhandberg's screenshot posted above? in his particular case, there's an issue polling the data, which is why the status is 'unknown'. The problem is obviously not the device since the values are current in the Universal Device…

This topic is covered pretty extensively in the Patch Manager Administrator's Guide.

jhandberg, please open a case with support so we can determine what's causing this issue. I have some theories, but they're too complex to troubleshoot here on Thwack and require diagnostics and a MIB walk of the device to confirm.
-
jhandberg, did you also change from Fahrenheit to Celsius or does your resource just look similar to dodo123 's for possibly different reasons?
-
dodo123 , we have tried extensively to reproduce this issue internally to no avail. Would you please open a support ticket so we can investigate further?

The following KB article may explain why this WMI name space is not available, and how to troubleshoot the issue if you meet the requirements. CTX108365 - Troubleshooting Issues that Involve WMI Data - Citrix Knowledge Center

No, you would not receive multiple alerts. If you want to receive different alerts for each item, then you would need to configure separate alerts. This feature here is about reducing alert fatigue by sending the fewest possible alerts while still ensuring each alert is actionable.
