Thanks . I have no updates to report yet, but we'll keep this thread posted as more information becomes available. In the meantime you can checkout some of the new features in the next release here. You can even signup to download the beta and start playing with it now.

It's still something we're investigating. Nothing concrete yet, but we'll keep the forums posted.

Thanks travis_vanholland! Others reading this thread are encouraged to keep sending their MIB walks. Right now we've received a fair number of Dell M1000e Chassis MIB walks from customers, but none for HP or IBM. If you have an HP or IBM Blade Chassis and would like to see SAM hardware health monitor of your blade chassis…

Have you tried following the steps outlined in the following blog post to extend the Silverlight Isolated Storage Quota? * http://www.silverlightshow.net/items/Isolated-Storage-Quota.dat.aspx There's also a Microsoft KB that addresses this issue, but some users have reported that it may not work with later versions of…

A 10MB jump in bandwidth utilization across 10 agents equates to 1Mbps download rate per-individual agent. That is neither unusual or unreasonable. Again, to reduce this further you will want to consider limiting the number of agents that upgrade in parallel which will extend the duration it takes to upgrade all agents,…

The Unmanage Scheduling Utility is the correct and only way to handle this in the product today.

Thanks! That worked great. Sorry I didn't use the AppBuilder, but it's never successful for me when I attempt to create a WMI Performance Counter. APM just times out :(

One thing you should be aware of is the next time you run the "Web Site" portion of the Configuration Wizard this file will be replaced/updated with the original unmodified version.
-
Do you have Server & Application Monitor (SAM) installed? If so, what version? Server Hardware Health Monitoring of HP Proliant Servers is a function of SAM, not NPM.
-
Have you tried using the in the Content Exchange? It doesn't appear to rely on the use of WMI.
-
There is already an out-of-the-box pre-configured for this purpose entitled "Alert me when any hardware component goes into a warning or critical state". I would recommend using that alert, or using as a point of comparison. If you are trying to limit this to a specific department, such as "Human Resources" in the example…

Have you looked at the following two application templates posted in the Thwack content sharing zone? Microsoft Message Queuing (Performance)

Capacity forecasting is calculated only after the node has been added for a minimum of seven days, and is triggered by database maintenance. It also requires that memory, CPU, volumes, interfaces, etc. is monitored on that node via SNMP or WMI. If there is at least a full seven days worth of historical data in the CPU…

When viewing the additional web server, what is the URL in the address bar on a page that looks like 8.1? Hmm. I should have noticed this earlier but the URLs are different. This is the URL of my working server http://myorionserver/Orion/SummaryView.aspx?viewid=1&netobject= And this is the URL of my additional web server.…

Is there any reason why you're using SNMP Traps and not the Windows Event Log Monitor? With the Windows Event Log Monitor you would get the full event message details in the alert notification and Orion web console as seen in the original Windows event.

Volumes do not have typical status indicators, which is likely the cause of the confusion. The long and short is that this volume no longer exists. That is why it's in a "Down" state. The deeply technical and "official" word from on high, straight from Karlo.Zatylny for how/when a volume is in "Down" state. * Orion Polls…

I've logged the creation of such a template as a feature request internally under FB254763

I would strongly advise against manual configuration. Instead, ensure the Node is managed via WMI or an Agent. Next, click 'List Resources' on that node and select 'Microsoft Exchange Server'. From the 'All Applications' tree resource on the Application Summary View, click on the newly added AppInsight for Exchange…

One thing worth mentioning is please ensure that you've waited a minimum of 10 minutes when testing, as there may caching in grouping and dependencies that are at play.
-
That very well could be the issue. Weird things can and do often occur when there are differences in .NET Framework versions between Orion servers.
-
If there is anything at all I can do to help please let me know.

Hey Greg! I think what Riyaz is looking for is something similar to ManageEngine's OpUtils, which provides a similar feature set to the Solarwinds Toolset with a web based interface. I think the idea has merritt, and honestly I think something like this would make for an excellent additional add-on to Orion that I'd be…

That is for CPU speed, use the same parent oid and you can find the remaining cpu details. This OID is obviously only valid for HP/Compaq servers

If you launch the Real-Time Process Explorer you can see the command line options specified, which should include the instance name. Have you validated/verified these have not changed in any way for your SQL 2008/2008R2 instances?

This error can also appear if the server is unavailable or inaccessible at the time of being polled. Polling of Hardware Health occurs every 10min by default, so if you had just recently rebooted the server it's possible the error hadn't yet had a chance to clear.

If the threshold for this component monitor is too low it can be easily adjusted to better suit your environment. You can even disable this component monitor entirely if you feel it provides no value. SQL Locks greater than 5 seconds in many environments is indicative of a more systemic issue that could result in…

What happens when the script is executed via a 32bit PowerShell command prompt, rather than a 64bit one?

We're currently tracking this internally as a feature request under FB357208.

I recommend using the Desktop Notification Tool.

My apologies for not being more clear. The problem I'm having is that the ${StatusOrErrorDescription} variable is not available when using "APM: Application" alerts. It's only available when using "APM: Component" alerts. As I have over 1500 component monitors, it's unreasonable to expect me to create alerts for each…
