I think may have missed a step. In addition to writing the event to the Windows Event Log you will also need to create a Windows Event Log Monitor in SAM to monitor for that event that will trigger the Advanced Alert Manager.

Not sure what device it is but for some Windows devices reinstalling the SNMP services helps. The device is not running Windows, it's a Dell Remote Access Controller 5. If this is not Windows device then submit the mib to be compiled into the SW MIB database. The Dell DRAC/ERA/RAC MIB is already part of the Orion MIB…

These components are flexible such that the can be configured to send the email via an external source (Gmail etc.) through to an internal email destination (Exchange, etc.) or vis versa. It's all how you configure the monitor. Test emails should be sent to a dedicated monitoring account. The emails you're receiving are…

amrita1690 , can you post a screenshot of your Polling Engines details for the poller that node is assigned? [Settings > All Settings > Polling Engines]

I was running NTA 3.5 RC SL2000 and upgrading to SLX final release (assuming there were changes made between RC and RTM/gold).
-
My initial recommendation would be to upgrade to the latest release as you may be experiencing an issue that's resolved in later releases. If you're already running the latest release then please open a support case so we can get some diagnostic information that will allow us to identify the cause of the issue.

The most common issue customers encounter with the "SW Web Console - UE" is that the port used during installation is different than what's defined in the template. Sometimes Orion is running on port 8989 or something similar and the component monitor is configured to use port 80. Another common reason is when SSL/HTTPS is…

Unfortunately, it seems that after some cumulative updates you need to re-run the 'Configure Server' step in SAM. You can do so by editing the assigned application in SAM and clicking the 'Configure Server' button again. In most cases, this addresses the issue.

The following KB article may resolve the issue you are encountering. AppInsight for Exchange error: Excessive number of PowerShell sessions and incomplete or missing results for some AppIns…

Tomas is right. If you've already upgraded to SAM 5.0.1 and are experiencing this issue then please open a case with support so we can take a look at your diagnostics. I'm not aware a systemic issue with the HTTP/HTTPS user experience monitors affecting multiple customers.

I believe the following KB article is what you are looking for. * SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: How to create a non-administrator user for SAM polling.

SAM does have a Directory Size monitor out-of-the-box.

Yes, the Real-Time Process Explorer supports both Windows and *nix nodes.

Based on screenshot you provided it looks like the 'DefaultAppPool' may be configured to be "AlwaysRunning". Changing this to "OnDemand" may resolve the issue. Another option would be to delete the "Default Web Site" if it's not being used, since that is likely the only thing tied to the "DefaultAppPool". If none of those…

I believe you are using a named instance rather than the default SQL instance. This is why the template is reporting errors. I would recommend using the application templates below, assign them individually to each named SQL instance. For multi-instance SQL servers, multiple templates may be applied. SQL Server 2005-2008…

SNMP Traps that contain hardware events from HP's SIM Agent can be configured to be sent to the Orion server and displayed on the Node Details view.

While I will admit that SAM is a particularly awesome product, it's primarily geared towards monitoring physical and virtual Windows and Linux/Unix hosts, and the applications that run on them. SAM 5.5 included network interface monitoring via WMI, but does not include SNMP interface monitoring required for…

This issue is resolved in Orion Core 2017.1 Hotfix 3.

These are built-in events to Orion and are not controlled by the Advanced Alert Manager, similar to how interfaces create an event when they go down, or a node goes into a warning then down state. These can be controlled via the EventTypes table within the database.

There aren't any canned views in the native iPOD or iPhone resolution for Orion, but if you really want the native resolution you can create your own custom views in Orion easily enough. I'm creating some custom views in Orion for Windows Mobile QVGA screen resolutions 320x240. The same could be done for the iPOD Touch or…
