The out-of-the-box alert will be listed under [Settings -> Manage Alerts] as seen below.

Yes. That is the very purpose of the Log Parser (Perl) template.
-
The visual differences you're seeing are because you've chosen to edit the assigned application. The screenshot I provided was editing the Template itself.
-
Yes, provided the process is spawned from the same location or uses the same command line arguments as the component is configured to monitor.
-
jspanitz,I just sent you an email. Let me know if you haven't received it.

Does the user who cannot see SNMP traps have an account restriction defined on their account? If so, what is that account restriction?
-
Yes, that is correct. All Polling Engines collect data independently but report their results up through the web interface of the primary Orion server and any Additional Web Servers you may have.
-
How often are you backing up your Orion database and how much does the transaction log file grow between backups? Multiple product upgrades can result in significant database changes. If those changes haven't yet been committed to the database then I would suggest running a full backup to see where you level off at.

The screenshot above comes from SAM 6.2 which features a new web based alert manager. If you're not yet running SAM 6.2 I recommend upgrading by downloading the latest version from your Customer Portal. Once you're running SAM 6.2 you will find the new Web Based Advanced Alert Manager under [Settings -> Manage Alerts].

What is the result you are seeing? Also, why are you needing to wait 10min for the page to be served? What technology is the page written in?
-
Will you please open a case with support so we can delve into this a little deeper?

I'm also a little confused on the proper settings for the MAPI User Experience Monitor so any clarifications would be most helpful. Have you looked over the our MAPI Technical Reference Guide? For instance, you mention configuring Gmail as the outbound SMTP server so you would need to enter your Gmail credentials to use…

Polling timeout values for applications cannot be configured/defined on a node basis. You can however adjust these values uniquely for each assigned application.

This is not currently possible today, but I have logged this as a feature request and am tracking it internally under FB89020. The only way I could see to accomplish this today would be through the use of a custom PowerShell script.

In the case of the Windows Server 2008-2012 Domain Controller Security. this template is assigned to the Domain Controller itself and will return the number of locked out users, disabled users, etc. For the specific details of which accounts are locked out and when you will find that information in the "User Account:…

I recommend you look at three templates below. Any of them should meet your requirements.

I just ran into this same problem with the exact same error message using the filter (IP = '10.1.2.3'). This appears to be a 9.5 bug.
-
It does, but this likely could be considered a bug, as the resource should automatically account for the the timezone difference automatically. You may want to try using the Multiple Object Chart resource instead.
-
That is not something we are currently working on.. Server & Application Monitor - What we're working on beyond SAM 6.2

No custom SQL is needed. All this information is available natively through the picklist of the Web Based Report Writer.

The following sections of the Administrators Guide should get you pointed in the right direction. * Monitoring Hardware Health * Adding Server Hardware Monitoring * Current Hardware Health Status * Hardware Health Chart
-
Just so we're clear, do any of the components in this resource work (appear up) or is it just the SQL Agent Job that reports a "down" status due to permissions?
-
Yes. The Windows and Linux templates should have parity with each other.
-
APMServiceControl should use the same credentials used to monitor the service to restart it so you shouldn't have any issues using it on remote machines with either local or domain credentials. You may need to specify the machine name or domain in the username when assigning credentials to the template for…
-
When a match is found the status is changed to Warning/Critical based on the thresholds defined. This status is then reset on the next poll if there are no new entries found within the file.
-
The "savecred" only utilizes the credentials under the user account they were saved under. For example, if you saved the credentials for the SWI\OrionADM account while logged in to the server as the local administrator, only the local admin has access to these credentials. The local system account that the Advanced Alert…

Have you considered using the HTTPS Monitor, POP3 User Experience Monitor, and/or IMAP4 User Experience Monitor?
-
What is the make/model/manufacturer of the server and how is the node managed in Orion? Is it a SNMP or WMI managed node?
-
Rather than Domain Admin, I recommend using the Orion Agent since it doesn't require any elevated privileges.
