The percentage calculation is based upon the highest value set by the administrator. If no value is defined for send/receive, then the "Send" value is used instead to calculate the percentage used. You could in theory write your own calculation for percentage used off the "Send" value even when "Send and Received" is…

This means we were able to send the mail, but we were unable to retrieve it for some reason. So your SMTP settings are correct, but you should double check your Exchange server settings and ensure that the user account you defined for monitoring is allowed to login via this method to the Exchange server, and that the…

Yes, that is correct.

Then most likely cause of the issue is that SNMP on the Windows Server was enabled after HP's SIM agent was installed. This results in HP's SIM MIBs not being loaded at the time of installation. The recommended resolution is to uninstall HP's SIM agent software and install the latest version. * RECOMMENDED * HP Insight…

You should consider deleting that template entirely and downloading the latest version from the Content Exchange at the link below. *

This is discussed in great detail in the following thread. * How to run inventory report of only physical servers?

The Application Health Overview resource respects view limitations and account restrictions. Meaning if the user or view the resource is located on has no associated applications this resource defaults to the "Sample" that you are seeing. If you believe you are seeing this in error, such as a view where the All…

Yes, topology information is collected as part of SAM but without NPM there's really no value to this information. Seldom do I encounter situations where servers are connected to one another via a crossover cable. Without the network devices in the middle to complete the picture (which is where NPM comes in) there's really…

The "Last Database Sync" is updated by the "SolarWinds Orion Module Engine" service. I would recommend restarting this service to see if that resolves the time discrepancy.
-
AppInsight applications are complex, purpose built, application specific monitors that do not always adhere to the limitations of traditional component monitors. Because the data set/types are known and the use cases well understood and properly defined they can sometimes be far easier to implement than a general purpose…

5 minutes is the allowable amount of drift between the Orion server and the SQL database server. 28322 minutes, as stated above is a little over 19 days of drift, which doesn't seem like a time zone issue. It sounds more like the date/time is just off.

menga, we've only seen a couple of instances of this issue being reported and they're all fairly new. What CU is installed on the Exchange server? Have you installed any other Exchange hotfixes that you're aware of? Also, since this appears to be a new installation, can you verify that this server does in fact have the…

The report shows the display name of the account as entered at the time of creation. This is commonly a friendly name that's easy to remember and not the actual username. You would need to look through the credential databases to see what usernames are associated with those credentials. They can be found under the…

Sounds like HP's WMI Providers haven't been installed on that machine. SolarWinds Knowledge Base :: Latest required software used to monitor hardware health. † HP Insight Management WBEM Providers for Windows Server 2003/2008 is an optional component for HP System Insight Manager that must be installed for SAM to monitor…

Have you altered the script in any way? The print statistic line should read "print "statistic: $1\n";" not "print "Statistic: $sut\n";"

Yes, SAM will monitor basic performance metrics for routers and switches, like CPU/Memory usage. However, you will not be able to monitor wireless network infrastructure, network interfaces on switches/routers/etc, or hardware health of those devices.

What version of SAM are you running?

This is possible using the new web based advanced alert manager included in the SAM 6.2 and NPM 12 betas. If you would like to participate in the beta and try it out yourself you can do so by signing up here.
-
This is definitely not normal behavior. I would recommend opening a case with support so we can gather debug diagnostics and see what's going on.
-
This issue should be fixed in the SAM 6.2 beta that's currently available. You can learn more about the SAM 6.2 beta as well as sign-up to participate at the links below. * SAM 6.2 Beta - Because sometimes you feel like a nut - Part 1 * SAM 6.2 Beta - Because Sometimes You Feel Like A Nut - Part 2 * SAM 6.2 Beta - Because…

It's likely the same level of effort to upgrade NPM as it is to uninstall it. So it will depend on you and your environment if you're using the functionality that NPM provides. If you uninstall NPM now and change your mind later that's not a problem. You can pickup right where you left off since all your…

You will need to add a new custom menu item, which is an option at the bottom of the Edit Menu Bar screen. To add a new custom menu bar item you will need to copy the relative URL path to the view as provided when clicking the "Preview" button in the view editor as pictured below.

Sorry, I should have included a link. http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/en/flarehelp/SAM/default.htm#samagagenttop.htm

What does the unaltered value returned by this OID represent? Is it in/out octets, bytes, bits? It could be that the value needs to be converted before it represents something meaningful, such as dividing by 1000, to change bits to megabytes, or dividing by 8 to convert bits to bytes, etc.

Simply delete the view, or views and re-run the Configuration Wizard. If it's a default out-of-the-box view it will be restored. If it was a completely new view you created from scratch however, those will not be restored once deleted.

Is this the only entry in the engines table?
-
If they're SMB shares then this template should work. It's essentially mapping a drive to the remote share from the host where the PowerShell script is executed (either the local Orion server or the host where the agent is installed).
-
Without knowing what the errors you're receiving are it's hard to guess. I would recommend opening a case with support so we can troubleshoot this issue further. It may be something simple like access control lists, firewall policy or even a possible routing issue; but without taking a closer look at…

What metric in particular are you wanting to monitor? It's very possible that this is dynamically monitored as part of AppInsight for Exchange.
