It's an ESX server, there are no remote credentials to run the script. The script needs to be run locally. I'll have a dig around and see if there are permission issues. I believe what lukas is saying is that under local user mode the script executes under the local "system" account. In remote mode the script uses the…

Based on the screenshot above it appears as though the Destination Point Type and Destination Point Name have not been properly configured in SAM with the appropriate settings for your Oracle server. You may need to work with your Oracle DBA to determine if you're Oracle server is configured to use a SID or a Service Name…

we have the same issue, the remote host does not reply to the Dell serial number OID. I've seen this commonly with Dell machines that have had motherboards replaced and the tech replacing the board neglected to run the BIOS utility that flashes the ROM with the physical serial number of the chassis. All replacement boards…

The following two sections of the Administrator's Guide should provide the level detail you are looking for. * http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/en/flarehelp/SAM/default.htm#orionapmphcomponenttypeshttp.htm * http://www.solarwinds.com/documentation/en/flarehelp/SAM/default.htm#orionapmphcomponenttypeshttps.htm

Understood. For Exchange 2010 I would recommend upgrading to the SAM 5.0 RC which will allow you to utilize 64bit PowerShell extensions natively.

It sounds like it might be a Cisco bug with that version of IOS.

Indeed it is. While best practices dictate that you should evaluate software in a lab or staging environment, not all organizations have the luxury of having either. For that reason it is very common that most customer evaluate the software in a production environment.

I'm afraid your submissions came a little too late to be included in the 2019.2 release. That is why I needed to add the caveat 'almost all' to the post.

Not at this time, though I've taken the liberty of logging the internally under SAM-2054.

AppInsight for IIS, which is part of the SAM 6.2 beta, includes native Application Pool monitoring and the ability to restart application pools from within the new web based alert manager.

Tool Tips should be automatic, but are not. It seems this stopped working with the NPM 10.4 release. We've logged this as a bug internally to be addressed. Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Monitoring processes without monitoring state (up/down) is not something that can be done natively within the product today. I know some customers have written scripts monitors in SAM to do this. I've logged this as a feature request which we're tracking internally as FB116284.

Every item posted prior to October 15th 2018 should be included in Orion Platform 2018.4, which is part of NPM 12.4. You can download the RC now from your Customer Portal.

I believe what you're asking for is the ability to unmanage interfaces. I've requested this very feature in the Orion feature requests located here...

If you've defined a threshold then the default out-of-the-box Alert "Alert me when a component goes into warning or critical state" should be triggered. You can modify the Trigger Action to notify you in a variety of different ways and include whatever information you would like as part of that notification.

SAM includes a default pre-configured out-of-the-box alert to notify you when free disk space is low. It can be found under [Home -> Alerts -> Manage Alerts -> Alert me when the free space of a volume is less than 5%] This alert can be customized to your liking and the email address and SMTP server configured so that you…

bangiopicher, please re-run the Configuration Wizard to see if that resolves the issue. If it does not, please open a case with support so we can determine the cause of the issue. Also, if you've customized any of the files referenced in this thread by other users in an attempt to fix the issue on your own, you may need…

Indeed. This KB article was removed by support as it is no longer relevant and was causing customers who were experiencing this issue with Worldwide Maps lots of confusion.

Maybe something like this? Linux Read-Only File Check

Is it possible that the UCS chassis is managed by one poller and the blades by another polling engine? Another common cause of this issue is if the UCS chassis itself was added as multiple nodes using different IP addresses.

To be alerted when a threshold has been exceeded simply click "Edit Application" when viewing the application details view, or "Edit Component" when viewing the specific component monitor you want a threshold defined for. Enter the thresholds you'd like defined for warning and critical and save your changes. If these…

It sounds like the file is being saved though a mechanism outside of Internet Explorer's file download handler. If this window is opening outside the browser itself this is likely why the transaction is failing. I can't say for certainty that this is the issue without seeing it in action but it sounds like that might be…

Clicking on the message in the Event for a component that has gone into a warning or critical state should take you to the Component Details view where you will see a chart showing the statistical values over time in relation to their warning or critical threshold. This allows you to easily see when a threshold was crossed…
