Can you please post a screenshot of your alert trigger action, especially the state management section? Alert reset action is always empty for ServiceNow integration alerts, at it is all handled in the background according to the state management section. To never reopen, reopen state must to be --None--. To actually…

Have you followed the steps outlined in the following KB article? How to increase ephemeral port allowances - SolarWinds Worldwide, LLC. Help and Support

After reviewing the entirety of the symptoms you described above, I would concur with supports assessment that upgrading to NPM 12.1 would be the most prudent action. I say this not because it's seemingly what every software vendor says whenever you encounter an issue, but because many of the symptoms you describe sound…

How is the node managed in Orion? Is this an SNMP managed node or a WMI managed node?
-
The KB accurately reflects the upgrade requirements for SAM 5.2.
-
Yes the path is correct and no Cirrus is not installed on this machine. This is a Windows Vista workstation. I've verified again and again that it is indeed the Solarwinds TFTP server causing the issue. Below are screenshots to that effect. It's noteworthy that the locks do release after a few minutes, but when you're…

That was going to be my suggestion. . I'm glad to hear you got the issue resolved. Also, thank you for sharing the precise steps you followed to rectify the problem.
-
Application Custom Properties were available starting in the SAM v5.5 release. SAM 6.0 is currently available in RC if you wanted to skip over SAM 5.5 entirely.
-
Agreed. Jonathan Angliss is on the right track. Log & Event Manager's File Integrity Monitoring capabilities are precisely what dbuchholz is looking for.

SAM will monitor the health state of your IBM X-Series servers and NPM should be able to provide the health status of your ASA firewalls. For the Stulz AC unit you will need to create a Universal Device Poller to collect this information as Vieregg suggests.
-
This will be addressed in a future release, I assure you. In the meantime however, you can copy and paste the text from viewing the page source in your browser. Simply search for 'Orion Platform' and the text following is copy and pasteable.

This KB is not longer active as the issue is addressed in the latest release.

jhorng wrote: Unfortunately even while following your process, the additional polling engines consume 3GB+ of memory in 24 hours. I can confirm if I restart the Solarwinds.Cortex service, the memory leak is cleared for 24 hours It sounds like whatever issue you're experiencing is unrelated to the one thomsen48 referenced…

The buddy drop is deployed to each poller manually, which will then deploy it automatically to all agents.
-
You are correct that the KB as published has not worked for all customers so we have made a buddy drop available for those customers affected with open support cases. This buddy drop will effectively replace/overwrite the offending plugin with a dormant stub until a proper fix that addresses the leak is available.

Cortex provides Real-Time polling within PerfStack for Agent managed nodes.

The sounds should play though the browser if you are using Internet Explorer. SAM 6.2 also includes a desktop notifier that is a far more powerful and flexible option.
-
I would recommend contacting your SolarWinds sales rep. They speak with customers in similar situations to the one you're in on a daily basis. I'm sure they would be able to assist you.

Once it has been determined that the polled statistical value remained the same for 7 days SAM will no longer attempt to calculate baselined thresholds automatically. You can however manually define thresholds, or use the threshold baseline calculator tool to set these values once there has been some statistical deviation…

It may not be a permissions issue, but rather a connectivity issue. Ensure that there are no firewalls or access control lists open between the two hosts. For troubleshooting WMI issues, I find it easier to test with a desktop tool and eliminate Orion entirely from the mix. For that you could use WBEMTEST, but I don't…

Adding the node alone is sufficient. All nodes (except external nodes) perform ICMP/Ping checks for node status and response time.
-
Rediscovery occurs every 30 min. So I would expect these nodes would update their information automatically at most, one hour after changing their polling method.
-
SNMP Community Strings are case sensitive based on the RFC. I can't comment on how each vendor implemented their SNMP Agent, but if they followed the RFC then it should be case sensitive. As for not seeing Hardware Health, this is normal behavior if SNMP was enabled after the vendor agent software was installed. Since SNMP…

Correct, Remember, "all" is equal to "and", and "any" is equal to "or". So your alert reads in plain English as "Trigger Alert when Node name does not start with UPS and component status is equal to warning or critical.
-
Agreed! If you're successfully managing the node via WMI then there's really no reason why the Real-Time Process Explorer shouldn't work. Have you been able to list processes running on these hosts using the "Find Processes, Services and Performance Counters" wizard under [Settings -> SAM Settings]? Have you ensured that…

What version of AIX are you running? Can you run these component monitor script from the template in an SSH session and post the full message error returned by the operating system?
-
It looks like a locked file or a permissions error. I recommend setting the solarwinds services as manual start, rebooting the server and trying the service pack install again. If that doesn't work double check your NTFS permissions.

There are a couple of Nagios scripts that can be used with SAM's Nagios Script Monitor to monitor process run duration. * Nagios Exchange - Nagios Exchange

The template is automatically download without prompting, so check the download manager in your browser. You may also want to try a different browser to see if that returns different results. At worst, exporting a template should not take longer than 5min. If after 5min it still hasn't exported anything and you've tried a…

I believe Asset Inventory is only enabled for pre-existing nodes when those nodes are discovered and re-imported/merged with information collected through the interactive one-time discovery.
